First Look

This box was heavy!  I was so curious to see what was making it so heavy and from the first look I guessed it was the wrapped up item, however, I wasn’t sure what it was yet.

The August 2014 Mommy’s Me Tyme box included the following items:

~Profusion Go Travel Eyeshadow Palette ($10): I think that this will end up being passed along to a friend with a tween!  It’s got a bunch of a colors and would be great for someone who is just starting out with makeup.

~Bath & Body Works Golden Magnolia Lotion ($5): You know I love B&BW stuff, so I am totally happy with this!  It smells great and is headed straight into my purse!

Bath & Body Works Golden Magnolia Lotion

~Mason Jar with Krazy Straw ($2.99): I am so lucky that this is pink or L would steal it from me.  I know he secretly likes pink, but is under the belief (thanks to school I am guessing) that pink is for girls (which it’s not)!  I suppose it’s okay though because I want this all for me!

~Extendable Fly Swatter ($4.99): I can’t say that I ever thought I’d own a fly swatter, but L thinks it’s cool so it’s his now!  Does everyone have fly swatters?  I just act all annoyed when there are flies in the house and then Buddy eventually attacks them for us.

~Yankee Candle Large Jar (Caribbean Fruit) ($27.99):  Ohh, this scent is fabulous!  I am actually surprised by how much I like it.  This is obviously what was so heavy in the box and I was thrilled to see it.

~Extendable Back Scratcher ($4.99):  I think L got B a back scratcher from the Santa Shop for Christmas, but I have no idea where that is now.  L also thinks that this is great, so it’s his now.

All totaled I came up with a value $55.96 for the August 2014 Mommy’s Me Tyme Box! With shipping the box is $37.90 so the value was well in excess of the cost. They have released a spoiler for their September box which will include a GO 1″ Styling Iron with a value of $39.99.

I’d like to see some perfume or a nice bottle of bubble bath. 🙂

  2. Lori

    A bottle of wine 😉

  3. Amy

I’d love to see some cool bracelets!

I got my PrettyFit box yesterday and I really love it! I got a huge full size container of whey protein plus a bunch of other stuff. My favorite was the high protein bakery treats–I put them in the freezer so they last! yum! I made a smoothie with the chocolate ?clair protein and it was super good! I think I’m going to keep getting the box for awhile. Did you end up signing up for the Yogi surprise box? I need to wait and see what’s in it before committing.

    1. Jennifer

I actually won a membership in that contest they had! I will report as soon as I get it. Although, they did have a sneak peak on their site I think??? Not sure if these are actual boxes or just examples:

  4. Lauren Chmielewski

    Spa or bathtub relaxation products

  5. kristen mcclary

i love yankee cnadles so maybe more of those! thanks for the chance

  6. Melanie

It would be nice to see more of a theme–spa getaway or something like that.

  7. Jessica

I would like to see even more bath/spa type products like the lotion from this box.

  8. Cheryl

    A pretty scarf!

  9. Beth Rang

One or more bath bombs. That’s something I haven’t seen in any sub boxes, although I only found out about them on Thanksgiving. (duh!)

  10. Jessica

I think the pink mason jar is my fave

  11. Cymbre Martin

Home items! I would love me some coasters

  12. Kristine

I need a fly swatter. So not a fan of bugs in general.

  13. Bridget Heiple Reich

Some bubble bath or a nail polish! 🙂

  14. Erica Scott

I subscribed to this box, however when I tried to order this box (there is a spot where you can order past boxes bc I will get the Sept. box) , it takes me to my paypal and does absolutely nothing. What should I do to order this box? I don’t see any contact info for them either so I can’t call or shoot them an email about it. What should I do?

  15. Jenny

Hmm different question. Lets see what would I love something from Lush ;), tiara (no idea where I would wear one but its what came to mind. LOL), some decadent chocolates, all come to mind right now. What can I say its been a long day.

  16. Ashley C.

What a fun idea! Now if only they came with a “Husband … tend the kids NOW!” sign so I could “schedule” in that me time! 😉

  17. Gina G

Would love to see healthy snacks in this box.

  18. Rebecca

That sippy mason jar is cute.

    1. Rebecca

Oops, hit reply too soon…and I like the idea of a flat iron. I don’t own one, cause I have straight hair anyway. My stylist just showed me how to curl with one this summer and now I want!

  19. Staci

It would be really fun to get a cute scarf.

  20. Kyla

This is the only box I’ve seen that doesn’t need to improve! For future items, I would say just keep doing what they are doing. And change the title of the box so more women feel welcome. Honestly all of these products are better to me than the disappointments I have suffered when I first did popsugar.

    Kyla

  21. shaunie

Would have to say that it would be bath bombs

  22. Michelle Sluman

Oh! As a stressed out new mommy, I’d love to have this box! Thank you Jennifer for posting this review. Yummy candles, jewelry, and spa products sound SO nice! Can they send a masseuse too?!! Jk.

I’d like to see better quality makeup, the above mentioned masseuse :-), and some chocolate or other indulgent snack.

  23. Lindsay

I love the flyswatter and we have about ten around the house because we don’t have air conditioning and those flies like to bother us! lol I am excited about the hair straightener since mine just broke a few weeks ago. Other than that, I would love to see something like a gift certificate for flowers… Because who doesn’t like flowers???

  24. Jenifer

I’d like to see either some relaxation products or cute jewelry!

  25. karen

How about some bling type notepads and matching pens, tiny enough to fit in your purse?!

  26. terri s

more bath stuff for sure, I love to soak in the tub with a good book. also the candles are great!

  27. Dawn P

Some items I think could be fun for future boxes: a (relatively new) popular paperback fiction book, a small bag of gourmet coffee (it’s always tea, let’s have coffee!) with a cute mug or a small bag of shortbread cookies, a fall themed barrette/hair clip large enough for pulling your hair back or fall scented aroma therapy votives.

  28. Diane F

    Candles, pens or even bracelets.

  29. Monica Maier

I would totally love that back scratcher for sure!!!

  30. Teena

    Thanks Jen,
This means a lot to me plus the comments are excellent ideas!

  31. Brittney

Oh, man. I would love to get this and gift it to my mom. She works so much and I think she would absolutely love everything in this box for just a nice, relaxing night now that I’m back to school for the semester.

  32. Kelly

Maybe a scarf or jewelry item.

  33. Charity

    Chocolate…… <__>

  34. Kathryn Johnson

More girlie items. The fly swatter and back scratcher are not really “mom” things.

  35. Jill Banks Geraci

    Bath stuff

  36. Kathy

I think a jewelry candle or any aromatherapy item (oils, diffuser) would be great.

  37. cali marie

Would love to see anything for a relaxing bath! Thanks for the giveaway!

  38. Nicole

a cute planner to keep organized

  39. Jen

Bath bombs or other bath good quality products!

  40. Shawn

I think great box additions are easy to wear fashion items that spice up a bland “Mom” outfit with little work; like scarves, bracelets and hair accessories. Also indulgent chocolate treats are always very welcome by me in sub boxes.

  41. Lia

Maybe audio books? Moms might not have enough time/quiet to sit and read a lot but they have lots of in-the-car time.

  42. Paula Jenkins

That box looks like a lot of fun!

  43. Lynda

    scarf, starbucks, book

  44. miranda

    I would love a scarf

  45. Crystal Gregg

How about a big statement necklace so Ma can look good getting out of the house during her “me tyme”

  46. Jacquelyn Noell

Accessories, chocolate, and drink recipes. =]

  47. Stacie

A jewelry candle would be perfect in this type of box. Also I agree with someone above that suggested a name change. I’m only a mom to non-human kids, which means I wouldn’t think to subscribe to this one, but really I loved everything that came in inside!

  48. cindy

    food crafts

  49. Nicole Tetrev

    I don’t know I LOVE surprisers!

  50. Dina Wardrip

    Love that candle

  51. Wendy M

I love a stay at home evening with face mask, deep hair conditioner, doing a mani/pedi- so anything that says “time to take care of me for a little bit!”

  52. Alicia N

Nice chocolates or a fancy cookie or brownie!

  53. Karen

I’d like to see a shower bomb, soft scarf, and some indulgent sweets!

  54. Kelley

Chocolate truffles or bath products would be great!

  55. Gina H

Is booze an option? Otherwise, I’d make a horrible box curator. The surprise if half the fun, but I’d never be able to come up with a fun compilation of goodies.

  56. Carri

OOh – I’d love to see more candles. Definitely something you can never have too many of.

  57. Ashley

I’d like to see snacks, both healthy and indulgent!

  58. gary

I think chocolate would be great

  59. morgan

I’d love to see more candles!! 🙂 or maybe a new mascara or something or a bath fizzy!

  60. Isabel

    A spa day theme!

  61. Jen

    Chocolate or book

  62. Jennifer Pittman

Bath items and other stress reliever items.

  63. ana ebright

    Chocolate or a nice candle

  64. Elisabeth

I would love to see a Bath and Body Works candle!
