August 2014 Pick-Me-Up

Pick-Me-Up, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box service that makes indulgent, all-natural sweets accessible to you. Each month they will send subscribers a surprise box that includes a handful of exceptional products aimed to erase the tedium of everyday life & make your days a little bit brighter!

The Package

Pick-Me-Up ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just a few days to arrive.  If you join by the 23rd of the month your box will arrive the following month.  If you join after the 23rd of the month, it will be the month after.  So if you purchase by August 23rd you will receive the September box.  After August 23rd and you will receive the October box as your first month.

The Box

This was my first time ever seeing a Pick-Me-Up box so I was anxious to see what it would hold.

First Look

This box smelled amazing!  Right away I smelled coffee which I love!

The Information Card

Pick-Me-Up doesn’t have a monthly theme but the August 2014 box included the following items:

~Madyson’s Marshmallows Chocolate Filled Marshmallows: I have tried these before and they are delicious!  The company was started by a family when their 4 year-old asked them how to make marshmallows.  They started trying different recipes together in their kitchen and it turned into a business!  I love stories like that!  Their s’mores kits look awesome and may just be something we need for the cottage.

~Liz Lovely Cowgirl Cookies: I just got a Liz Lovely cookie in a different flavor from Orange Glad and now I received this one.  Both are delicious and this is a brand I am going to keep my eye out for locally.

~Gearharts Fine Chocolates: Miso Caramels: Never would I have thought caramel with miso and sesame seeds on top would be good, but these are delicious.  I needed an afternoon pick-me-up yesterday and one of these did the trick!

~Coffee Break Cafe French Vanilla Coffee:  This smells SO GOOD.  Ahh!  If it tastes anything at all like it smells, I am in for a treat!

~Q’s Nuts Banana Foster Pecans: Better than expected for sure.  I am more of a chocolate lover, but these are good.  They come in a bunch of fun flavors too.

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box (it’s so hard with food boxes), but it was for sure a nice pick-me-up!  I think having a little game or puzzle or app download idea or something in there would make it extra cute!  Just something to play / read while you are enjoying your snacks to totally take your mind somewhere else for a few minutes.

What do you think of Pick-Me-Up?  If you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn more, click here.  You can use the coupon code “PMU914” to save 20% off a monthly recurring subscription or “PMUGIFT” to save 20% off a 3 or 6 month subscription!  Both codes expire on 10.1.14!
