I didn’t get too many subscription boxes today, but one I did get was my September 2014 Stitch Fix.

If you aren’t familiar, Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. You provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

The Box

Stitch Fix ships via FedEx and takes less than a week to arrive to me.

First Look

I didn’t even peek at my Stitch Fix this month so it was a surprise to open it up and see what they sent me.  If you are wondering how to see what you are getting, you can go into your account after it ships and click on the checkout link where it will show the items in the box.

The Information Card

Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept everything in the box (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $370 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $262.50 (plus my $20 styling fee).  In comparison, my August fix would have been $195 to keep everything.

Here are the pieces I received:

~Sanctuary Shelston Solid Trim Waffle Knit Sweater ($69): Meh.  I don’t love the colors on this and it’s just boxy on me.  Not a fan.  Verdict: Returned.

~Daniel Rainn Portreri Graphic Print Scoop Neck Blouse ($68): This is another miss for me.  I don’t hate the pattern, but this style doesn’t work on me.  The material isn’t forgiving and sleeveless stuff isn’t what I need going into winter. Oh and it had a little stain on it.  Verdict: Returned.

~Mavi Yasmin Skinny Jean ($98): These remind me of maternity jeans, but in the best way possible.  I have a very similar pair to these from Stitch Fix though so I don’t need a second.  Verdict: Returned (but I liked them a lot).

~RD Style Rhonda Knit Back Faux Leather Jacket ($78):  I am surprised that I am going to say this, but I like it.  It’s really not something I would have picked out / tried on myself, but I think it’s a keeper.  Verdict: Kept

~Vanessa Mooney Syklar Cylinder Bead & Nugget Layering Necklace ($58):  This necklace is totally me and I love it.  More often than not I love the jewelry that Stitch Fix sends me.  Verdict: Kept.

Well I said it last month, but I really mean it this month, I am going to revamp my profile, do some pinning and see if I can’t get myself a Stitch Fix where I want to keep everything!
