October 2014 Citrus Lane
October 2014 Citrus Lane

Yay!  My other October Citrus Lane Box has arrived!! I have two Citrus Lane subscriptions – one for WB who is 2.5 years old (you can read that October review here) and another box which is randomly aged at 4.5 years (it’s L’s age minus two years).  This review is for the 4.5 Year-Old Boy box.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month (and is even less when they do a coupon code on top of that).  I always opt for the longer subscription with them because it’s a way better deal.  I am actually hoping that they do a Black Friday coupon code for existing subscribers (like they did last year), so I can extend both of my subscriptions!

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.  I generally expect it between the 15th and 20th of the month, so it was right in line.

WB sporting his Bowstache

I forgot to take a first look picture, but I did snap a picture of WB sporting his #bowstache. They are little punch outs from this month’s box and are Citrus Lane‘s way of spreading awareness of both Breast Cancer (think pink) and Men’s Health (think mustaches). They are having a contest on their FB wall and you could win a $50 gift card just for sharing your #bowstache picture!

The Information Card

The October 2014 Citrus Lane box included the following items to help develop cognitive skills, stimulate budding imaginations and something for musical play:

~Janod Toys Dominos ($9.99): When I saw the spoiler for Citrus Lane this month and saw these in there I right away hoped that we’d get them.  And here they are!  WB can match up the animals and L knows how to play regular dominos so I am sure he will play with them too.  I’ll also use them for some fun math games for him!

~Hohner Kids Maracitos ($9): We got a set of these in WB’s box this month, but they were much smaller than these. Maybe about half the size?  I should actually adjust the price on those.  Anyway, these are great and WB has already been shaking them all around the house.

~Little Adventures Red Hero Cape ($16.99):  I love this!  And so does WB.  And L.  Who doesn’t love a superhero cape? I should have probably saved this for Christmas, but I couldn’t resist letting him have it now!

~Annie’s Cheddar Snacks (~$1): I predict that these will be gone tonight!  Everyone here loves Annie’s snacks.  It’s just a matter of who will find them in the snack area in the pantry first.

All totaled I came up with a value of $36.98 for the October 2014 Citrus Lane box for a 4.5 year-old boy.  I really liked this box and thought everything was age appropriate and well curated.  I especially liked the cape!
