Nicholas Black Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly men’s lifestyle subscription box. Each month you will be mailed a box containing 5 lifestyle and grooming samples from an array of categories. These samples will be from well-known brands and some new to the market brands.

The Box

Nicholas Black Box ships via USPS and all boxes are shipped by the 21st of the month.

First Look

This is our second Nicholas Black Box and when B saw it he immediately asked if it was his and if I was done taking pictures of it so he could dig through it all! Oh and he did wear those crazy pink camo socks he received last month.  I saw him with them on the old day when he got home from work.  I asked if anyone ever commented on his socks and he just laughed and said sometimes, but he doesn’t care.

The Information Card

The information card is broken into four categories (Grooming, Skin Care, Lifestyle and Health & Fitness).  The box didn’t have a monthly theme, but it included the following items:

~RSVP Skincare for Men Soothe & Smooth Shave Cream ($14): This is a totally new brand to B and I.  It has Dragon’s Blood Extract (no seriously) which helps you get a perfect shave every time.  B will be happy to try this out.

RSVP Skincare for Men Soothe & Smooth Shave Cream

~RSVP Skincare for Men Organic Hydrating Lip Balm ($6): I think B already has this at work or in his car or something.  I know I haven’t seen it since the box arrived that’s for sure.  It’s 100% organic, is stacked with vitamins and has avocado oil and Omega-3 UV protection.

~Billy Jealousy White Knight Gentle Daily Facial Cleanser ($5): Billy Jealousy is a great brand and facial cleanser is the item B most likes receiving in subscription boxes. It’s the product he uses the most too.  He has tried this in the past and is a fan.

~La Fresh Group Travel Lite Lens & Screen Cleaning Wipes ($1.66): I will be putting these in my purse for those times when we are in the car and B needs his sunglasses or iPhone cleaned.  L’s iPad could also use a good cleaning.  I swear, his hands can be perfectly clean and he can still get that thing all dirty!

~Gatorade Prime Energy Chews ($1.50): I know that B has been wanting to get back to running more often so maybe these will help inspire him.  He has also talking about doing a triathlon next Spring / Summer to see how he likes it.  He gets bored just running so that might work out better for him.

All totaled the October 2014 Nicholas Black Box had a value of $28.16.  In comparison, the September box had a value of $15.91, so the value is almost double that this month!  I was hoping that they would increase the value of their boxes and they totally did.  I like that this box includes items from an assortment of categories and I really hope they can keep their values up.
