Peach & Lily, who kindly sent me this box to review, is an online destination for innovative and high-quality beauty products from beauty-forward Asia for US Consumers. They recently offered a “SEOULCIALITE Beauty Box” and kindly sent it to me to review. It was a one-time only box (not a monthly subscription) and promised 6-full sized items, a travel kit and a surprise gift – all for $49.
Peach & Lily ships via USPS Priority Mail. The box was available for pre-order and shipped on October 16th.
As soon as I saw the box I knew I was in for a treat. It was totally gorgeous and had that magnetic closure that I think is so fancy.
I didn’t expect to recognize anything in the first look (and I didn’t), but I still thought it was a great first look.
The information card for the October 2014 SEOULCIALITE Box from Peach & Lily had information on each of the products in the box, along with prices and an explanation of why they chose the item. Here is what was inside:
~Banila Co. Clean It Zero ($22): This is a “sherbet” textured cleansing balm that removes makeup and leaves skin clean, prepped and ready for the rest of your nightly beauty routine. After you use this, it’s recommended that you move on to a foam cleanser and them complete the rest of your routine. I don’t want to mix up my new routine too much, but this is so fun that I will be adding it to my nightly product line-up.
~CremorLab Triple Bright White Bloom Floral Cream ($72): This is designed to be the last item in your nightly routine and should be applied in the morning before your SPF. Can I just say that I love that they give you instructions on when to use it? With so many different creams and serums and cleansers it can get confusing!
~Be the Skin Non-Stimulus Face Polisher ($29): I have always been a little confused about an exfoliator and a cleanser. I thought you used one or the other. This exfoliator, however, is recommended before cleanser. It’s supposed to be gentle and doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients, so I will be adding this to my nightly routine too.
~Mizon Vita Lemon Sparkling Powder ($3): My box was actually missing this item. Since it was a review box I didn’t contact them about it replacing it (although I am sure they would have).
~Mizon Correct Combo Lip Gloss ($16): Fabulous color and I love that it’s not sticky. From the looks of the information card there were a variety of colors sent out and they all look great.
~Peripera Smoothie Waterproof Pencil Liner ($12): This is a long-wearing, easy-off eye pencil. As you know I don’t generally wear eyeliner (although I know I should), so I will pass this on to a friend.
~CremorLab Travel Kit ($17): This little kit includes lots of great products and is designed to keep your skin in check even when you are traveling.
~Earrings ($30): The special surprise gift was a pair of earrings from Seoul’s fashion district. I don’t know how often I will wear these, but they might work for the holidays.
All totaled I came up with a value of $201 for the October 2014 SEOULCIALITE Box. Considering that this box was only $49, I’d say that was quite a good deal! This box is now sold out, but they are planning on restocking, so if you want to be notified when it’s available again, you can sign up here.
