My November 2014 Stitch Fix, which is a personal styling service for women arrived yesterday. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix ships via FedEx.  My box generally takes under a week to arrive to me and ships from San Francisco.  If you sign up for monthly Fixes, they will atomically ship every 4 weeks or so.

First Look

My November Stitch Fix was really heavy!  I was hoping that it meant that lots of winter pieces were included because it is getting cold here.

The Information Sheet

Stitch Fix comes with an information card which includes a listing of everything in the box, prices, and then a total of how much everything would be if you kept it all (it deducts your $20 styling fee and the 25% discount for keeping all of your items).  Just to give you an idea, my box had a merchandise total of $430 and had I kept everything, I would have had to pay $307.50 (plus my $20 styling fee).  In comparison, my October Fix would have been $267 to keep everything.

Here are the pieces I received:

~Bay to Baubles Colbie Bar Bangle Bracelet ($28): I really like this bracelet, but I don;’t think it’s something I “need” right now.  Verdict: Returned.

~Sanctuary Abel Textured Knit Sweater ($98): Oh I love this.  As soon as I picked it up out of the box I knew that I loved it.  It’s SO soft and I love the winter white. I’ll totally be wearing something underneath it though (unlike the model on the website), because it’s a winter sweater and because that would not look good at all if I didn’t! Verdict: Kept

~Kut From The Kloth Cia Boucle Sleeve Terry Moto Jacket ($128): At first when I saw this, I thought no way.  No way am I keeping that. But it won me over.  First of all it has a hood and I have a strange love for hooded shirts and jackets.  And I love the zipper on this and the fact that it’s so comfortable. Verdict: Kept

~Level 99 Patrick Chino Pant ($108): Nope, these pants are just not me.  They fit weird (well they fit me weird) and I am just not a fan of the color or the pockets or anything.  Verdict: Returned.

~Collective Concepts Wanda Floral Print Pleat Front Top ($68): I like the print of this one, but the cut and pleat front isn’t flattering for me.  It’s kind of boxy and I need something a little longer. Verdict: Returned.

I am keeping two items from this Fix which I consider a win.  As long as I keep at least one item so I don’t lose my styling fee, I am happy!  I still need to go in and give some better / more detailed instructions on what I want them to send and maybe change up my Pinterest style board (you can link it in your Stitch Fix profile) because it’s been the same for ages!

Do you get Stitch Fix?  What have been your favorite items you’ve received?  If you haven’t checked out Stitch Fix but want to give it a try, click here.  And don’t forget, the better feedback and more information you give, the better chance you will have to get amazing Fixes that work for you!

I got the gray blazer that they have your white sweater paired with 🙂 Is the sweater really that light that you can put a blazer over it without it being bulky?

    1. Jennifer

There is no way. I feel like it would be SO bulky! It is not a thin sweater!

  2. Stacie

I always look forward to your Stitch Fix reviews! I’m too cheap to subscribe (I’m more of a buy on sale kind of girl) but I love seeing what they surprise you with! I love the two items you kept, especially the moto sweatshirt. I liked the bracelet too. The other two I agree were just meh.
    Thanks for sharing!

      It’s cozy!

So what you are telling me is that you aren’t going to wear the knit sweater without an undershirt & paried with a metallic mini skirt like model? Lol! In what world does that go together? Not my world.

    1. Jennifer

OMG I would look like the biggest idiot.

I think I’ve received 3-4 stitch fixes. I haven’t kept everything, yet. The most was 3 items. My last fix I liked 4 items but it would cost more to keep 4 items then keep all 5 (the 5th didn’t fit)… so I returned the I guess I can live without item. The stylist has followed my pinterest page and has tried to fit my style… so that’s good. I’m hoping that my December box has something holiday like in it.

I should change mine up for December for some holiday stuff!

I am waiting on my first Stitch Fix to arrive. I am excited and hoping that something will fit the bill of what I am looking for. I have a hard time shopping b/c nothing ever fits me right and I get very frustrated and end up leaving the store empty handed. I decided to go this route to see if I have better luck.
