The Box

Little Lace Box ships via USPS Priority Mail and took three days to arrive this month.  I love that they use Priority Mail because I know it won’t take too long to get to me.

I was so excited to see what would be included in the December 2014 Little Lace Box and had to peek at spoilers on MUT yesterday.  And it made me even more excited for this box to come.

December 2014 Little Lace Box
The Information Card

The December 2014 Little Lace Box theme was “A Fresh New Start” and was described in the information sheet as one of the most disconnected boxes you will ever see from Little Lace Box.  But it’s disconnected because each of the pieces in the box were selected because they mean something special to each of the sisters behind Little Lace Box.  What they have in common, however, is that they help trigger something in each of them that makes them want to jump out of bed each morning and do something extraordinary.  And who couldn’t use that as we jump into the New Year?  Here is what was included:

~A Fresh Start Fresh Water Pearl Necklace (Little Lace Box exclusive) ($49): Ohh, I didn’t realize at first that the pearls on her were different sizes!  That makes me like it even more.  So pretty!  This piece was selected for the box not just because it’s beautiful, but also because it’s a daily reminder that you are amazing.  The ladies who started “A Fresh Start” took a chance on something they believed in and so can all of us!

~Stia Couture Fresh Water Pearl Bracelet ($35): Ohh, I love this.  And I think it’s going to be even prettier if I stack it with a few other pieces that I have.  It’s delicate, but not so much so that you’d be worry about it breaking if you wear it.  It’s meant to be a “mix & match” piece and was chosen because the story behind the Stia inspired Taylor (one of the sister’s behind Little Lace Box).

~Whitney English Mini Day Designer ($49): I have quite an obsession with planners and have always wanted to try a Whitney English one.  Who am I kidding, I want to try them all.  The best part about this one is that it’s undated, so you don’t have to use it every day / week if you don’t want to and can just jot things down as needed.  It’s super sturdy and of course, super stylish!

~Three Sisters Apothecary Soap (California Mission Fig & Honey) ($3.99): This is Aubrey’s pick and was inspired by her love of fragrances.  It smells amazing and I will be using this in the new year!

All totaled I came up with a value of $137 for the December 2014 Little Lace Box. No, it’s not as amazing as the November box, but how could it be? I mean seriously. But I still absolutely love this. Two gorgeous pieces of jewelry, a great smelling soap and a planner I probably would have bought anyway? Awesome!

The January 2015 theme is “The Dining Car -Vintage Beauty and You” and promises to include hidden gems for you and your home.

I think it’s a thoughtful, well-curated box, but I’m not a big fan of gold jewelry and do all of planning in Google Calendar, so the only thing useful to me is the soap.

    1. theramblingjen

I hope you are able to trade some of your items! I am guessing it shouldn’t be too hard! Those planners are very popular and you could probably even sell it for its cost without an issue!

  2. nymisc

This box is quickly moving in to my top three. Big fan. I received the exact same items but a different flavor soap (plum nutmeg).

    1. theramblingjen

Same here! I think the sisters have excellent taste!

  3. Amanda G

I want this box! If January is a good review, I think I will have to go for it. Great curation.

    1. theramblingjen

      Totally!

  4. Heatherp

I never wear gold. I recently received 3 gold necklaces and 2 gold bracelets. All from subs. But because for me the subscriptions are for trying new things, im very pleased. I think a lil change some days will be fun. Now i need some gold earings and im set!! This box is very nice. Very thoughtful and inspiring. I cant wait for next month. The theme is AWESOME!!

    1. theramblingjen

What do you think they will send? I usually try and figure it out from the items in their shop, but I couldn’t even tell last month!

  5. CandayCakes

I was totally on board with this box until someone pointed out that this month they sent 4 items when they promised 5-7 items in each box. I tried to look for it on their website (couldn’t find it, but saw someone else’s screenshot.) When this someone called them out on it, I was completely disgusted with how EXTREMELY rude they were to her. Put this on the terrible customer service list. Awful, awful women!

    1. PA Anna

I’m surprised they were rude. I must had missed that response or it is on a blog I don’t read. That’s disappointing to read.

They did write in the letter explaining why they included only 4 instead of 5-7 items. I was fine with it.

      1. Candaycakes

It was someone in a group I’m in that discussed it. I don’t feel comfortable showing her screenshots but she emailed them asking about the 5th item and they came back saying her account has been canceled (which she didn’t ask for it to be canceled) and that if she just wants “stuff” this box wasn’t for her. Some serious snark. She was just stating that she felt it wasnt right for them to list 5-7 items and then count shipping as the 5th item
Totally weird of them. Sidenote: I found some of their items in the box at Marshall’s today (from past boxes) for a good price.

        1. theramblingjen

Ohhh, what did you find?? Don’t even tell me if it’s Farmhouse Fresh stuff or I am camping out at my Marshalls till it opens tomorrow.

    2. Andrea

I’m very new to this wild Sub Box world, and I too was very interested in this company/box.. It makes me sad to see that they could have been directly rude to one person… where did you see that? From a lot of other comments I’ve seen they just rave about the CS. Perhaps this was a glitch? I do believe however that this box is not for everyone. But unless I’ve had a personal experience with poor CS I’m not willing to cross this one off my list just yet.

      1. JKru

They have been beyond courteous, professional, and go above and beyond anytime I have had contact with them. In fact, I am overly impressed at the level of customer service, curation, quality, and thoughtful details that is associated with this sub.

LOVED this box! Already wondering what loveliness they will have in store for January…

Keep up the good work LLB!

        1. theramblingjen

I am interested to see what January brings too. I like when they do home items!

    3. theramblingjen

They are usually so amazing with customer service! I saw some discussion and an apology on MUT.

  6. Becka

I really liked this box. I don’t wear pearls often, but both pieces of jewelry are good for layering (I’ve been layering the pearl necklace from LLB with the bauble bar necklace from MSA02 and it looks lovely!) and it’s nice to have a “set”. The planner is awesome. I have an Erin Condren planner which I will use for all my major planning, but the Whitney English planner will be GREAT for keeping daily to do lists (and all my lists, really) in one place. The soap is very nice as well. I’m sad I wasn’t subscribed for the amazing November box, but I liked this one and I’m really looking forward to January’s theme.

    1. theramblingjen

Love that layering idea! I bet that looks perfect!

  7. Lauren

Umm I love both jewelry pieces… do you know if you can still order this particular box?

    1. Barbie Allen

      Lauren,

I am trying to sell mine if you are interested. I just got a new planner so this box ended up being a miss for me. I’m selling it via Paypal for the 39.99 I paid for it. Let me know if you’d like to buy it!

      Thanks!

      1. Kate

Have you already sold this box? I would like to purchase if you have not. I really am upset I can’t get January’s – they sold out in one day!

  8. bisexual narwhal

I am in love with this box! This is my first LLB and the planner is all I needed for it to be a win!

    1. theramblingjen

I seriously have a planner I use already and I was still SO excited to get that one!

  9. Lana

I just purchased my own Day Designer planner for $55, so I’m feeling a little silly I didn’t just sign up for this box! Though I do like the full size one 🙂

    1. theramblingjen

      Is the full-size one dated????

      1. Lana

Mine definitely is, but they may have one that isn’t? It’s the first Day Designer I’ve gotten, but I love it.

  10. mommato4

This box was a bit of a let down for me—-especially after last month’s box. With the use of a smart phone, I never keep a planner, the jewelry was so so-a bit too fragile for everyday wear and the soap well—was just scented soap (I’ll use it, but nothing special). I hope the January box comes back as a hit as this was a pretty big miss for me.

    1. theramblingjen

Did you try and trade / sell anything? The planner will probably sell for its cost!

  11. PA Anna

I love this box. I wasn’t too sure about the necklace and bracelet until I tried them on. Delicate and very pretty. I’ve been using my planner the past couple of days. I like that it is undated. It goes well with my regular planner. I will be bringing the soap with me on a business trip. It’s apple clove and smells delicious. I like that they picked a soap called Three Sisters being that they are 3 sisters running a business. The packaging added a festive New Year touch.

I am happy with all the boxes that I received from them which is Oct-Dec. I’m pleased with all my interactions with them. I can’t wait to see how the theme is curated in the next box.

    1. theramblingjen

I totally noticed that about the sisters soap too!

  12. krbi

This one is just not my style. I don’t like having jewelry chosen for me and I find bar soap nasty. I don’t even like the chocolate peppermint scent (which is weird since I love both of them) or I could use it as a sachet. The planner is kind of iffy for me, too. At least last month there was so much good stuff that made up for the lavender body cream & bath salts.

    1. theramblingjen

That chocolate peppermint scent sounds good, but sometimes they just don’t work in things! I don’t like sharing bar soap. Like if it happens to be in someone’s guest bathroom, I can’t get into that. LOL.

  13. Amanda G

    Jennifer,
I just signed up for a year through the link on your page. Hope you get a referral credit or something.

    1. theramblingjen

      Thanks!

  14. xinzi

Why doesn’t the Ramblings10 coupon code work for the annual subscription? Maybe I’m missing something….

    1. xinzi

Well, first off , I was typing “Ramblings10” instead of Rambling10, however, when I correctly entered Rambling10, this was the reply: SORRY THIS COUPON IS NOT APPLICABLE TO YOUR CART CONTENTS. (Hmm…)
Sorry, this coupon is not applicable to your cart contents.

      1. theramblingjen

I bet the way it’s set up that it’s not working on the annual – only the monthly (and that’s sold out). They have REALLY good customer service though, so I would totally e-mail them!
