Zoobean, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a monthly subscription service which helps you build your individual child’s literacy with remarkable children’s books and apps selected just for him or her.  You are able to select between a monthly book delivery service (from $9.99/month) that gives you one hardcover or paperback book each month, along with an app recommendation + literacy guides or a digital service option (from $2.99/month) and receive weekly personalized app + book recommendations that come with literacy guides.

This selection is for L who is 6 years old.  I also received a book for WB (he’s 2) and that review should be coming in a few days.

The Book

The Package

Zoobean ships via USPS Media Mail and took under a week to arrive. L’s package and WB’s package actually ship at the same time, but WB’s isn’t here yet. You just never know with Media Mail!

The Pirates Next Door

L’s book selection this month was The Pirates Next Door featuring The Jolly-Rogers (which is selling for $11.99 on Amazon right now). This book is absolutely adorable. For real. The illustrations are awesome and it is such a cute story. A total win!

The App:

First Words Deluxe

L’s app selection this month was “First Words Deluxe”. I don’t know if I am going to get it for L’s iPad, but I may get it for WB’s (well mine). Right now I think it would work for L, but he’ll outgrow it quickly. However, once he’s done with it, WB will be ready.

The Zoobean plan I received is $16.95, which includes the monthly hardcover book + the digital reading guide + the app selection and app companion.  If you are interested in just the Digital Service, it’s $2.99/month and you will receive a weekly email that includes an expert created Reading Guide or App Companion along with a book or app recommendation.  And then you can pick up the book at the bookstore or borrow it from your local library!
