My Winter 2014 fabfitfun arrived yesterday!  I should have really taken have taken a picture of all the boxes I had spread around the kitchen yesterday that I was taking pictures of.  It was a bit crazy (and messy) here!

If you aren’t familiar, fabfitfun is a quarterly monthly subscription box that includes hand-selected items (the “hottest of the season”) in beauty, fashion, fitness, and wellness from the fabfitfun team. fabfitfun is $49.99/quarter and beginning with their Summer 2014 box, they ship to Canada!

The Box

fabfitfun ships via FedEx Smart Post and took just four days to arrive to me.  I must say, FedEs Smart Post has been hustling this month! I love it!

This box was super heavy!  Although I knew what was in it, I was still surprised at how heavy it was.

The Information Card

The Winter 2014 fabfitfun box included the following:

~Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive ($39): I have gotten samples of this in boxes in the past, but I never got around to buying a full-size of it.  It works well and I am betting it’s going to work even better now that I will use it on a regular basis.  Every time I open a jar of this I am surprised that it’s not thicker though.  No reason why this should be thicker, it’s just what I think.

~HALF UNITED Fighting Hunger Necklace ($34): I love what this necklace stands for, but I am bot sure how often I will wear it.  Someone did suggest using it as a keychain which I might end up doing!  HALF UNITED gives half of all of the profits from their products to feed children in need and the bullet casings represent that fight, so I do get it.

~Zumba 60-min DVD “Max” and $25 Gift Card ($55): I have never done / taken Zumba, but I everyone who has tried it does seem to love it, so there must be something there.  I will give the DVD a go and I spent my gift card (on hair ties and socks) last night! There are tons of items under $25 to pick from and shipping is free!

~Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Intense Anti-Aging Eye Serum with Retinol ($88): Well I cannot wait to see how this works.  It’s quite expensive so it’s not something I would ever randomly buy on my own to try, but if this secret goji berry concoction makes me look 24 again, I’ll buy another bottle!

~Daniel Stone COCO Candle (White Tea Ginger Root) ($42): I don’t know how many different scents fabfitfun sent out of this candle, but I love the one I received.  It’s a lighter scent (in comparison to the candle that arrived in the PopSugar Holiday Box anyway) and it’s made from natural coconut wax!  I didn’t know this, but I guess coconut wax gives you the cleanest burn available!

~yourMinerals Eye Shimmer in Swedish Winter (White) and Glistening Grey ($44): I have tried (and liked) these shadows in the past.  They are shimmery so they will be nice for the holidays and beyond.

~3-Month Membership to SaltedTV.com ($29.97): I forgot to take a picture of the card, but Salted TV is like the Netflix for cooking I guess?  I don’t do much (any) cooking, so I’ll see if B wants to check it out,

~LATHER AHA Hand Creme with Evening Primrose ($18): I never think of hand creme coming in a jar, but if it works I’m okay with it.  My hands aren’t too roughed up right now so I guess the real test will be in a month or so!

~$30 Fashion Project gift card ($30): The Fashion Project sells pore-loved designer clothing and accessories and a donates a portion of the proceeds of each sale to charity.  I haven’t used my gift card yet, but I did some browsing last night and there is a ton of stuff you can get for under $30!

~Sponsored: Organic Valley Organic Balance Milk Protein Shake ($2.99): fabfitfun always has a few sponsored items in their box and this is one of them.  It’s best served cold which I didn’t realize until I went to open it today, so in the fridge it goes.

~Sponsored: Justin’s Class Almond Butter ($.63): Love Justin’s Almond Butter!  It’s good stuff and comes in very handy if you stash it in your bag for an emergency!

~Sponsored: Special K Snack Bars ($2.62): This is my first time trying this flavor and I am planning on picking up more at the grocery store today.

All totaled (including the gift cards), I came up with a value of $383.59 for the Winter 2014 fabfitfun box!  Of course, I wouldn’t have paid that on my own for this box, but $49.99?  Well, yes, I will happily pay that (and I did)!  Between the candle, the eye serum and the Juice Beauty I MORE than got my money’s worth.  Everything else was just a bonus!

My first comment as a guest. This is PA Anna. I want to order this box! It looks great. I didn’t because of all the deals and holiday boxes. The things that interest me most are the Zumba and Salt TV, You may want to take the apron line out of the last paragraph. I wonder if I can reorder it with the discount.

    1. theramblingjen

Thank you! I got it fixed!

I think you can reorder with the discount.

Was the Zumba gift card inside the little Zumba pack thing? I am planning on giving both to my mom as part of her Christmas present but I don’t want to open it!

I got the candle in red currant. Eyeshadows in Swedish Winter and Brown Hypnotic. Silver necklace too though I’m not a fan of the chain. If I end up keeping it, I’ll probably put it on something else, maybe a ribbon.

    1. theramblingjen

Yep! It’s inside the cool Zumba envelope along with the dvd!

I’m curious to see how they handle these boxes for Canadian subscribers. I looked into the sites after seeing spoilers and Fashion Project and Zumba both don’t ship to Canada. I had messaged them and they said they were looking into a way to compensate us, but it seems like something they should have thought about beforehand. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with!

    1. Sher

Thanks for checking that out for some of us 🙂

    2. theramblingjen

I didn’t even think about that! Let me know what they tell you. And that is a gorgeous profile picture of you!

      1. Andrea Karwandy

I’ll keep you updated, last I heard they still hadn’t come up with anything. And thank you!!

      2. Andrea Karwandy

I just got an email from them! They were able to partner with Zumba Canada for a $25 discount and free shipping, so I’m happy with that. For the Fashion Project one they have decided that we can mail it to FFF and they will forward it to us for the same $8 shipping cost that we pay for our boxes. That’s not as great of a deal, but it’s better shipping then we usually get from sites! Overall, I’m pretty happy with their solutions.

I am so looking forward to this box. I think I am suppose to get it tomorrow. I am looking forward to all except the Zumba. With the Fibromyalgia I have it is not a good thing for me to do. I’m OK a while doing, it’s the after effects that cause me grief!!???? FabFitFun has been an awesome box to get and I enjoy opening each and every one. I realize there is a lot of skin care in the box, but this time of year I need it all the time!!! Thank you so much Jen for your review and the time you take to let us know about all the boxes each and every day!

    1. theramblingjen

I bet!!! It was a fun box this season!

  5. Genevieve

My Citrus Lane was in the middle of the porch last night so I totally didn’t look for this box but found it on my way out this morning. Haven’t opened it yet but so glad I got a year subscription! The past three boxes have been great!

    1. theramblingjen

I should have went for the year when they offered that $20 off or whatever!

  6. Jennifer Holzmeyer Louthan

Nice box. I think my mom might have ordered this one. She mentioned it but not sure if she did or not. I NEED to check on that pronto. LOL I haven’t ordered from Fashion Project yet but I did send in items and it was great and I loved the Nordstrom gift cards. 🙂

    1. theramblingjen

      They have SO MUCH stuff!

  7. Kayla Peterson

Now that I look at your review, I did not get the special k bar in my bpx. 🙁 I love snack bars. They must have forgotten it lol.

    1. theramblingjen

E-mail them! It’s too good to miss out on!

I really liked this box a lot. I ordered 2 of them – $40 each, sent one to my sister for Christmas. I got mine first so I could at least get a peek at it, hers arrives tomorrow or Thursday. I do think the bullet casing is an odd choice to represent hunger but it is unique and interesting and probably would be highly desired if I tried to swap it (wish I had silver instead of gold but it isn’t too bad). I love the scent of my candle. I’ll try the hand cream tonight – I live in Wisconsin and my hands are always crazy dry and I am a hand lotion addict – my desk at work has 5 different brands of hand creams, my nightstand has 2 balms, a body lotion or two and another 3 tubes of hand cream, and then I have one of those zip bags from ThursFri from FFF Summer that I carry around with 3 tubes of lotion (Bliss, Neutrogena, Tocca).I looked at the Project Fashion site when I first heard a spoiler on it on MUT and it had great items I wanted but they are now gone (Rebecca Minkoff!) but I get the feeling there will be more so I’ll sit tight for now. I know exactly who I’m gifting the Zumba to and the Salted Tv to. My husband drank the shake (not a fan – guess we should have chilled it – oops), my son ate the Special K bar (big fan) and eventually I’ll get the Almond Butter. I used the eye cream within minutes of opening the box – I love getting items I’d never blindly splurge on like that. I haven’t decided yet how I feel about the Juice Beauty – I usually only use masks for pore cleansing and I have yet to try this brand even though I actually have items from them (courtesy of Sample Society). Definitely though a win win for me. I wasn’t too crazy about the Fall box but I loved the Summer box (which was my first). I’ve collected 5 extra of those ThurFri bags w/ the purse prints on them.

    1. theramblingjen

Did you see the comment above where someone wants the gold instead of the silver they have?

  9. Krista

Wow this was my first FFF box and I am over the moon!! I got mine yesterday and showed my fiancee this am everything in it and asking him if his mom would like the salted code since she likes cooking and he’s like how much did that box cost?! He couldn’t believe I paid $40, considering I was telling him the prices of everything!!

Any amazing box!! Hope it stays this way!

    1. theramblingjen

That is pretty amazing isn’t it?

  10. Krista

Oh and yes, the only thing I won’t use or be able to gift is the necklace. I was worried the 2 gift cards (Zumba and the clothing one) were going to be like the PSMH Nike gift card where nothing was less than $70 on the site! Happy to hear they can be used without adding a bunch of my own money on!

    1. theramblingjen

Agreed! I am happy with my Zumba socks and hair ties and even happier with how quickly they shipped!

  11. Amanda Fojtik

Would anyone be interested in swapping the bullet necklace? I received silver and really never wear silver. I absolutely love and wear gold all the time! Anyone looking for My silver one in exchange for your Gold necklace? Thank you 🙂

    1. Jess

I just saw your comment. I have gold, and I almost never wear gold. I’d love to swap if no one else has offered.

      1. Amanda Fojtik

One lady responded almost a week ago but I haven’t heard from her since if you want to email me we can exchange mailing address 🙂 Amanda.fojtik@gmail.com. Thanks Jess!

  12. Kathy Massella

I signed up 2 weeks ago to receive this winter box and received email confirmation that I would yet have heard nothing since! I called, left 2 messages, and have now sent 2 emails inquiring on the status and still nothing! Any suggestions?!?? I’m disappointed because I was so excited for this box however seems like customer service is not very good…

  13. Amanda

I am a slacker and have just now gotten around to using my zumba gift card. The website won’t take it without a pin. Am I missing something? Do you recall if you had to enter a pin?
