The Box

PopSugar typically ships via FedEx Smart Post, but this month they shipped via FedEx Ground.  I think it was in part to try and make sure everyone received their boxes in time for Valentine’s Day and in part to make up for some of the shipping delays they have been having lately.  It will be back to FedEx Smart Post in March, but I was happy to get my box so fast this month!

First Look

I always know exactly what’s coming in PopSugar because I look at spoilers, but it doesn’t make opening the box any less exciting.  Seeing it all in person is better than just looking at pictures online.

The Information Card

The February 2015 PopSugar Must Have Box was inspired by “One Love, Hearts & Arrows, Red Hot, Devine Desserts and Pampering” and included the following items:

~Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush ($26): I think I said in a different subscription box review that I was already overloaded on blush, but I will make an exception for Tarte!  It’s a gorgeous color and gives you a natural looking flush.  Great stuff!

~U.S. Apothecary Rose Water Bubble Bath ($30):  Ohhh, how fancy is this?  The bubble bath is in a real glass bottle and just looks and feels so luxurious.  It’ll leave you smelling like roses too.

~ACME Party Box Company Bamboo Heart Cutting Board & Cheese Knife (PopSugar Exclusive) ($32): I think this is my favorite item in the box. B and I aren’t going anywhere for Valentine’s Day, so maybe we’ll have a little wine and cheese feast with this adorable set.

~Bauble Bar Mini Arrow Pendant Necklace (Silver) ($32): This arrow pendant was sent in gold and silver and I am very happy with the silver I received.  PopSugar has sent us all sorts of different jewelry pieces throughout the years, but the small, dainty pieces are my favorites.  Probably because they are for everyday wear and that’s more me.

~Figs & Rouge 100% Natural Balm (Lemon Berry) ($8): Love this stuff!  We’ve gotten this brand in a few boxes (ipsy and GLOSSYBOX come to mind) and it’s just fabulous. The balm is lightly tinted and moisturizing and their packaging is fun. I am so excited about this!

~Chuao Chocolatier Ravishing Rocky Road Bar ($4): I have tried a few flavors of these bars (Target sells some), but never this one.  B is a huge fan of Rocky Road ice-cream, so I am going to save this for us to sample together.  Maybe with that cheese & wine on Valentine’s Day.

~Special Extra: Sally Beauty FingerPaints Nail Color (Pink Imagination) ($5.49): This polish is supposed to give you “intense color, durable shine and a long-lasting finish” with just one coat.  Meh.  I am not sure about that.  Maybe it’s because my color is so light, but I think it needs two coats to make it look good.

All totaled I came up with a value of $137.49 for the February 2015 PopSugar Must Have Box.  I absolutely loved this box and think PopSugar has really been stepping up their game the past few months.  Part of the reason I like them so much is because they send a mixture of items – it’s not all make-up or all jewelry or kitchen stuff, it could be anything! And they select items that fit my tastes perfectly.

Wow you lucked out with Lemon Berry!!!! I love Figs and Rouge, I received pomegranate. This box was so nice. They are doing wonderful with curation lately!

  2. Rhonda

I received a different color polish (Romanticism Ruby-a deep sparkly red) and Figs & Rouge lip balm (Wild Cherry-not tinted). I love this box. I especially loved the Tarte blush and heart cheese board. So cute!

  3. Mrs. L

I think I got the same box as Rhonda. I received the Wild Cherry Lip Balm…not a cherry fan but willing to give it a try. Got the silver necklace which is what I wanted. My nail color is also Romanticism Ruby which is perfect for the holidays. LOVED this box. I thought it was a perfect blend of things for February and I will be able to use everything in it!

I received the same box except pomegranate lip balm. I love this box!! my 30th bday is sunday so they just knewwwww I love rose bath stuff silver and tarte! 🙂
and I would have bought all of this on my own, well, If I were as creative!! I’m very happy with PS the past few months, I hope they keep it up-perfection!!!!
now, if my horrible cold would go away so I can smell my rose bath I would be so happy!

  5. Hilda

I got a deep red nail polish and my necklace is gold. Wish I had gotten it in silver. I may see if anyone wants to swap for the gold. Overall what a great box!!

    1. Bridget

I will swap you the silver for the gold necklace in a heartbeat! I do not do silver jewelry at all.

      1. Hilda

Sorry, I was able to swap it on MSA. They are plenty of listings there of people wanting to trade if you’re interested.

      2. Mary

Did you still want to swap your silver necklace for a gold one? I’m the opposite – I love silver, not big on gold.

  6. Squinj

I got the silver necklace which made me happy because I hate gold, I got the pomegranate lip stuff, and stupid evil yucky pink nail polish. I HATE pink with the hate of a thousand million hates. I would have loved the red nail polishes! Over all I liked my box. I don’t know how much usage the blush will get since my face turns red all by itself without help. Haha. Overall, though, it was a fun box.

  7. Lorin Montgomery

Ravishing Rocky Road Chocolate Bar is the best thing in the box.

  8. Christina Gonzales

I love this box! The necklace is perfectly cute (I got silver, also). I love baths, and I cannot wait to try out the bubble bath. I am a BLUSH PERSON. I am very fair, so anything to pink up my cheeks. And, my favorite detail this month is the fact that the marshmallows in the chocolate bar were vegan!! I am not much of a sweets person, but I love anything marshmallow flavored, and I can’t have marshmallows, but I read the ingredients and they are vegan. Totally random, but I appreciated it, shared the bar with my kids for dessert tonight! 🙂

Hmm, well my heart board is cut all wiggly at the top, the finger nail polish is gloppy (mine was a red glitter version called Romanticism Ruby – letting the second coat dry as I type 😉 The bubble bath did sad bubbles for a $6 portion in my tub today, the necklace is cute but the most delicate piece of jewelry I’ve ever TOUCHED, the chocolate bar is way too sweet and I’ve never said that about chocolate. AND I haven’t tried the blush or the gloss yet.
That said it’s not a bad box, and I like the variety – it’s just not a winner for me.

I wasn’t super thrilled with this box. I love bracelets and rings but I’m not a fan of necklaces as I don’t like wearing things around my neck. I was really only interested in the lip balm, bubble bath, and chocolate bar.

  11. DRA

Seriously one of my favorite PS boxes. Just got mine in the mail. I love the gold arrow necklace. It’s dainty and pretty. The blush and lip balm will both serve me well. The chocolate and cutting board I will give to my roommate for Valentine’s day. I love rose scents and plan on using the bubblebath as body wash. And although I’m never really thrilled to received fingernail polish, it was a nice little extra. Hopefully March will be good too. 🙂

Love Tarte and Rigs & Rouge… Oh and that arrow necklace <3 <3
