I received my March Doodle Crate a few months ago, but I am just now getting around to posting my review.
If you aren’t familiar with Doodle Crate, they are one of the new lines in the Kiwi Crate family. Designed for girls ages 9-16, Doodle Crate includes all the materials and inspiration for DIY projects such as patterned pouches, friendship bracelets, or colorful candles. Crates encourage girls to tackle new challenges and gain creative confidence!
Doodle Crate ships via FedEx Smart Post and took just about a week to arrive to me. It shipped later than normal last month due to some port issues on the West Coast.
I am a little way older than the recommended age group for this box, but I love the projects they include. They aren’t too lengthy or complicated and can hold my interest.
The February 2015 Doodle Crate theme was sculpting and included the necessary materials to make your own sculpture.
In addition to information on how to complete the project in the information booklet, Doodle Crate also has instructional You Tube videos. Which can be helpful.
So sculpting. As you can see from my scary bear creation in the top picture, I am not too good at it. But I had a good time so that’s all that matters. I didn’t find it hard at all to create the wire base for my sculpture and was at first worried that there wouldn’t be enough clay for it, but it all worked out just fine. I don’t know what the March 2015 Doodle Crate is going to bring, but I am hoping it’s got something to do with painting. I really enjoy the painting related projects and crafts!
