Two questions today…..

1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? And, also, is that what you ended up doing? I think I wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger. Not really sure why. It just sounded cool. At some point I am sure I wanted to be a teacher too because teachers were always SO cool when you were little. I am not doing that now (obviously) and decided on Accounting in college. And I was an accountant (well, an auditor) until WB was born and I decided to stay home with the boys.  L wants to be a Scientist or a Policeman.  He previously wanted to be a Ninja, but I think he realized that career options were limited in that field ;).

2.   What is one US city that you have always wanted to visit, but haven’t made it to yet? This is a hard one for me because there are so many places that I want to go and see.  Key West, Seattle and New York City are at the top of my list right now.  I’ve been to NYC, but only for like a day and that’s just not enough time!  I am really hoping that B and I can sneak a long weekend there this summer.

Can’t wait to hear your answers!

I always wanted to be a veterinarian when I was little. I just really wanted to help animals and hang out with them all day. I don’t do that now, probably because I realized I have a hard time with the sight of blood, and I’m not very good at math. Now I go on tour with different bands as an audio tech.

I would like to go to New Orleans, I have been there for work but I’ve never had time to explore and there is so much to see!

I wanted to be an auto mechanic growing up, and work on cars with my dad. I took auto shop in high school, but when I got married, I got a normal desk job. I worked in pharma for many years. Now I’m a stay at home mom, and do payroll at my husband’s company on a couple of days a week, but I talk to him every now and then about going back to school to do auto mechanics. I just love cars so much, my lil guy does too.
and I have always wanted to go to Detroit, I love music, and cars. I want to see the Orbitsuns play. Also I know its not much compared to Disney world, but my kids want to talk a road trip to Cali to see sights and Disney Land. But my husband wont do it unless I drive the motor home too. The thing is a bus, I just wont do that. so mehhhh we stick to east coast. haha

When I was a kid, the first thing I remember is that I wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. This was the 70s when they were the biggest thing in the world. I then wanted to be a teacher and then I wanted to be a cop. I am currently an accounting technician but should be finishing my Masters soon and want to teach college level.

I want to go to San Fran, Seattle, and Boston. I am from Philly originally, so going to New York City was a common occurrence. It is just a short train ride. I have never been to the west coast ever.

  4. Chrissy

I wanted to be a dancer! I danced for years until I was 16 and a lacrosse injury sidelined me for almost a year. After that I felt like I was always trying to catch up and just stopped. 🙁 I’ve been an editor (I went to school for that), an AA, inside sales, and a hair stylist but now I’m working on a children’s book so who knows what the future holds!

Portland and New Orleans – my husband and I are def getting to both by the end of 2016!

  5. Becka

I wanted to be a Broadway star growing up. I actually was a professional actress for several years out of college and was successful enough to make a living at it. However, that lifestyle got old and stressful very quickly.

I’ve been to many of the major U.S. cities, but two that are on my list that I haven’t yet visited: San Antonio (visiting in May!) and New Orleans.

When I was younger as a child I wanted to be a teacher as well, I think a lot of kids go through that stage when they’re younger! Then as a teenager I wanted to be a model where I was so tall and thin. Everyone supported me and I almost did but it didn’t work out. I have always loved acting too and would love that, but as of now I’m studying graphic design. I have always wanted to travel the world and see everything! I especially would love to see Ireland and, italy !

    1. I little I played around with a lot of professions in my scrapbook but it was really early that I wanted to be a police officer and after that I never changed my mind. I’m now in my 25th year of policing. Come on retirement!

    2. With the kidlets and Irish dance we were lucky to get to a lot of places. The two places I want go to are New York City and New Orleans. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find anything I like in NO as I’m not a fan of seafood but I think I will survive. They have drive thru daquari bars. Hubby said I will be drunk within the first two hours when we get there!

    1. I wanted to be a psychologist or a lawyer. Life happened and I did not finish my degree in Psychology. Now I am an organic farmer studying herbalism and nutrition. My husband has a good job which allows my sub box fix.

    2. I’ve been to a bunch of cities. I’m more of a country gal. Any beautiful cities in the mountains?

  9. Megan

I live in Seattle (and have my whole life) so I’ve done the west coast thing, but have never made it to the east coast. I’d love to do New York city and Boston oh and Austin sounds amazing too. If you ever make it out here, let me know I’ll point you to the real Seattle scene not just the tourist stuff! 🙂
When I was a kid I wanted to be a veterinarian or a dentist but a fear of needles kept me out of all medical fields. I became an event planner and started my own company after college. Now I stay home with my 2 boys and consult for
Non profits and do an occasional wedding.

  10. Carol

When I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian, until I realized I’d have to put animals to sleep. Lol
I went to school to become a psychologist and did that for awhile, I switched over to behavior studies and worked in that. Then social services, as the dreaded person who took children away from abusive parents. I was much hated. After years of that I went back into behavior and became a profiler. Now I’m disabled and im a bum. Lol
We are military so there aren’t too many places we haven’t been, but I’d like to see the middle states since we always avoided them. Oh yeah Vegas!!!

  11. Angela

Growing up with two teachers, I always wanted to work in business and have a 9 to 5 job wearing suits! I work in finance and got my wish. I would love to visit Anchorage, Alaska.

    1. Cymbre Martin

Anchorage is amazing, but I suggest Juneau for proximity to glaceries.

  12. Wendy M

Fascinating what everyone wanted to be but now does! I wanted to be an artist and now I’m a designer.
I travel a lot for biz-cation. A MUST is New Orleans! So fun, so much to do, great food, fun to walk & see architecture. Don’t miss it! Also- DC (oh the cherry blossoms & Smithsonians!!) Seattle (drippy/rainy and so cool, youthful techie vibe, great food/beer/coffee, shopping, museums- lots of amazing Chihuly glass) and SF (by my hometown- so much to do, great walking city, architecture, history, walk across bridge, museums, LOTS for kids to do). I haven’t been to Nashville tho!

    1. Carol

My husband liv s in DC and it’s one of my favorite places. So much to do and see. And a lot of its free

    1) I wanted to be a band director… Like from 5th grade up until I graduated high school and applied for college… And reality set in that I didn’t have the talent for it. Majored in art for a while instead and switched to drafting.

    2) I want to go to NYC and washington and back to Disney whichever is in Florida… And a million more places. I just want to see the world.

    1. When I was little I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I always wanted to be a Veterinarian, but I would grow too attached. I am now a Senior graduating in May for Computer Science and Information Tech with concentration in Software engineering, and I applied to graduate school for instructional technology. I used to think I never wanted to be a teacher, and now I really hope to become one.
    2. NYC! I just want to see Jimmy Fallon, dang it! Why is he so awesome?!

  15. Cymbre Martin

I always wanted to be a teacher, then social worker, and in higher school I wanted to be in the foreign service. I ended up being a religious phylosophy major, so I guess I iust wanted to be unemployed????
Right now I want to be anywhere warm with a beach. I live in NYC and before that Idaho, and before that Alaska, so I’m ready for a change.

  16. Wanica McNeil

    1. wanted to be a lawyer also, but i natural affinity for math ends up with me being a civil engineer.
2.wasnt blessed with kids so the travel bug has gotten me most everywhere. Would like to visit denver, never got there but heard it had a seatlle creative vibe and i loved going to seatlle multi times.

  17. Victoria

As a wee little one I wanted to grow up to be a monkey. But through jr high and part of high school I wanted to be an astronaut. But my vision went into the toilet so that went out the window. And I’d love to visit NYC one day for sure. I have friends from there and it sounds like a neat place to visit.

  18. Hannah

    1. As a kid I wanted to be an astronaut, but that was very young. I remember wanting to be a teacher, a veterinarian, & a marine biologist. I got my degree in Anthropology & work in Accounting now. I’d love to someday get a job that I need my degree for, but nothing like that around where I live.
    2. Since I got my degree in Anthropology I want to see the world & meet/learn about all the cultures of the world! But in the US I’d love to go to San Francisco. I’ve always wanted to go to Boston too, but I’m going there next week for the 1st time! 🙂 I don’t care if there’s snow everywhere, as long as my plane can land/take-off 😉

    1. I always wanted to be a teacher growing up. When I was in 1st grade I wanted to be a first grade teacher, when I was in 2nd grade I wanted to be a second grade teacher lol. Now I’m in the military which I didnt really decide on until high school, but now I’m so glad that I did!

2.Come visit Seattle!! I’m born and raised in WA and I live just outside of Seattle. It is so beautiful here with the mountains and trees and just everything is green! There are TONS of things to do, especially for your adorable kiddos! Two cities that I’ve always wanted to visit are New Orleans (during mardi gras of course!) and Miami!
