MondayMorningRamblings-1024x1010-1

~Good morning!  We’re still a bit worn out from our Easter festivities, but luckily L’s on Spring Break this week so we can sleep in and recover!  Today is also Opening Day (of baseball season) in Detroit, which is pretty much a holiday of its own.  B and I briefly considered having lunch downtown today until I realized what day it was.

Go Tigers!
Go Tigers!

~This should be a pretty busy subscription box week. I am expecting Birchbox, a Citrus Lane Mystery Box, Doodle Crate, Fabletics, Hazel Lane, Hermosa Box, Julep, POPSUGAR, Rachel Zoe Box of Style and a few more I can’t figure out in MY USPS.com.  I am 99% sure we will be getting April POPSUGAR spoilers today, so stay tuned!

~Target’s Easter Clearance will begin today and should have 50% off all Easter items (30% off food / candy).  I haven’t done much (any) scouting, but I do know that the Easter section had individual packs of legos, EOS lip balm 2-packs, Smart Art Sidewalk paint and more of that sort of thing.  If you go today let me know what you get.  I am really going to try and wait till 70% off (which I am thinking will be Thursday) before I start shopping.

~What’s everyone reading right now? I was hoping that Lauren Conrad or Birchbox would come up with something for their book clubs this month, but I haven’t seen anything yet.  Was P.S. I Still Love You as good as To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before?

P.S. I Still Love You
P.S. I Still Love You

~I should probably save this until tomorrow, but what are your favorite work-out-at-home DVD’s?  Nothing too intense or super expensive. Free would be best of course!

That’s all for now.  Hopefully I will be back with POPSUGAR spoilers later this morning ;)!

I was going to go to Detroit today too until I remembered what day it was. My PSMH looks like it might be delivered today – late but I will have to settle for spoilers. The tunnel and bridge were backed up at 8am today!
Enjoy the sun it’s supposed to be almost 60 today!

As ridiculous as it is, when I work out at home it’s to the box set of Richard Simmons Sweatin’ to the Oldies. It’s a lot of fun and the music is classic.

I’m always reading several things at once. 🙂 I’m making my way through the manga series Skip Beat! It’s really cute, but I’m almost caught up. I’m reading the novel Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. It’s about a southern high school girl who just got superpowers and has to protect this boy who she doesn’t get along with. I’m also reading the novel Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. It’s the second book in the Giver Quartet. I just finished reading the novel The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. It was *so* good! It was about this girl who was born with wings and her family history that led up to her present day. It was a really beautiful book. One of my daughters just finished reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. She liked it so much that she’s rereading it! In one review I’ve read on it, they said the book will break you into a thousand pieces, but you’ll be grateful for it and that’s so true. When I finished reading the book, I honestly gave it a hug. lol It’s a truly excellent book that I recommend to everyone. <3 🙂

At home, I work out to the Just Dance series on the Wii. If you don’t have the system, a lor of the videos are on YouTube in full.

I have to go to classes to work out or at least out for a walk when I’m home I’m thinking about other things that need to be done or end up on the internet reading! I am dying for some spoilers!!!

If you are a yoga lover, I recommend the Yoga Studio app. Great programs of different levels, lengths and needs.

That book hasn’t come out yet 🙁 it’s set to come out in May.. right after my trip. So that’s a pretty extreme bummer.

For work-out stuff- just google best youtube workouts for whatever part you want to workout : ) there are lists galore!

Went to Target today. Only got EOS at 50% off plus 5% cartwheel and 5% Red Card – great deal. Several other items that I have my eye on im hoping to wait for 70% off.

  9. Sarah

Fitnessblender.com has a ton of free workout videos for all levels, all types (i.e. kettle bell, yoga, HIIT, etc) and it’s fabulous!

I could not resist and I went to Target today, I bought the things that I really really wanted (and some I could not leave behind) and I know they will not be longer there, all the targets near me usually are almost empty when the the 70% come up 🙁 I was able to find 1 EOS (box with 2) , Sidewalk paint (just 1) and I lot of small toys for future surprises, birthdays, etc, but I resisted any candy since they are just 30% off, I will go on Thursday again 🙂

I second Richard Simmons! It’s really fun and enjoyable, and a decent workout (not crazy intense, but not super easy). The videos tend to be a bit on the longer side though, so for a super quick, intense blast I like Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred. I think each workout is only about 20 minutes.

My boys were tired this morning!

I think I am receiving Arcade Block Grab Block, Nerd Block Jr Grab Block, and Adore Me this week. I received a second Wal Mart Beauty Box today.

I’m reading Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin, Double Fudge Brownie Murder by Joanne Fluke, and Block-Buster Drugs: The Rise AND Decline of the Pharmaceutical Industry by Jie Jack Li.

N and I went to my little Target today and didn’t see a ton that we needed at 50%. If some of the things make it to 70 or 90 then I could be presuaded. He did pick out a skylanders mystery puzzle bag eraser thing that is pretty cool. If I see more at a higher markdown I might grab them.

I recently read “I’ll meet you there” by Heather Demtrios. I saw it was sent out by a YA sub and it caught my eye. It’s very well written – which I cannot say about a lot of YA books. It’s not so much plot-driven, as character driven, which in itself is pretty unique for YA writing, and hard to do well, but she pulls it off. It’s also incredibly emotional. I’d put it up there with “13 Reasons Why” on my list of gut wrenching emotional journeys. (If you haven’t read 13 reasons, stop reading this blog and go buy it)
