International Blessings, who kindly sent me this Box of Blessings to review, states that their mission is to empower 3rd world artisans by selling and promoting their handmade products, which then helps to create sustainable livelihoods and eliminate poverty around the world. Each Box of Blessings will have 3-4 pieces of jewelry or other handcrafted products made by impoverished people around the world.
Box of Blessings ships via USPS during the first week of the month and are only available to those in the US.
Box of Blessings boxes are quite small, but they pack lots of goodies in them.
Box of Blessings includes information cards about each item in the box along with a card about the partner this month. The June featured partner is Samaritan’s Purse which is providing Nepal Earthquake Relief. Here is what was included in the June Box of Blessings:
~Stone Ring – India: This ring is adjustment so it will fit just about any size finger. It’s made from a smooth natural stone and is a nice statement piece.
~Wood Bracelet – India: This bracelet is so pretty! It’s handmade out of wooden and glass beads in Old Delhi. Totally love!
~Glass Stud Earrings – Ecuador: These are my favorite item in the box this month. They are made with hand-blown glass by Aida Males. She’s a widow with 3 adult children and makes jewelry to help get them through school. And the earrings are gorgeous. The level of detail is incredible.
I didn’t do an actual cost breakdown on this box (I never do), but it works out to about $10 per item which isn’t too bad at all!
