~Good evening and happy Sunday! We had such a busy weekend around here. LOTS of errands and chores got done though, so that is good. B and I also snuck in a date night at our favorite pizza place while the boys were hanging out with their Nana and Papa. Oh, and they saw the Peanuts movie this weekend too and really liked it!

~So while we were at Target getting lamps yesterday I was explaining to B that people like to take the the decorative letters and basically anything else with letters and spell things (sometimes dirty things) with them. He thought I was nuts, but when we went back today (one of the lamps was broken) we stumbled into “FART” on the stockings. L thought it was maybe the best thing ever. LOL. Also, I feel like such a grown-up buying lamps.  Our old living room lamp was, umm, from my condo way way way back before I knew B.  So maybe like 15 years old?  It’s been relocated to the basement.

LOL!
LOL!

~Our big excitement this weekend though was the purchase of an IKEA EKTORP sofa!  I think IKEA *might* be the only place on earth you can get a couch + cover for $799.  Such a deal.  We already had the matching chairs and just moved them from the basement into the living room. I had looked into a few slipcovers and for the sectional we had it was going to be hundreds of dollars.  Ouch.  So we decided to just get a new IKEA couch.  I realize that having a white couch *might* seem crazy, but I’m going to give it a go.  All of the covers come off the cushions and can be washed and bleached which is what I really need in a couch.  If worse comes to worse I can go to IKEA and get another $99 cover too I guess?  We were (are?) planning on selling our sectional, but when we moved it into the basement I realized just how bleached the top / back it had gotten from the sun.  How can I prevent that in the future if I ever get another dark sofa?

~In other exciting news I got Secret Santa all set up!  If you are interested in participating you can head over here and get signed up. The deadline to sign up is the 16th of November and you’ll get person’s details shortly after. I am asking that all gifts get shipped by December 7th so everyone can get theirs by the holiday. If there is a delay I just ask that you let your person know so they aren’t wondering if you flaked. One thing – please note in your profile someplace if you are willing to ship internationally. I think a few Canadian girls have signed up so far. I am excited about this!

~That’s about it from here!  I have to get prepared for 90 Day Fiance!!!!  I just love that show!

~That’s it from here.  I hope you are having a great Sunday night!!!

You are so brave to have a white couch. We do need to get a new one but since I’m still constantly cleaning it I’m not sure I’m ready to do a new one yet. LOL

I agree the white couch is brave. We have a taupe leather set, and as long as we have pets and kids, we’ll stick with leather. It’s just so easy to wipe up messes. I have 2 white suede ottomans, and they look terrible. I’m constantly trying to clean them with various things. What seems to work best is the magic eraser.

Now see, I think suede (of any color, but for sure white) is brave! With the couch I can just take off the cushion covers and throw them in the wash.

Did u hit the 90 % off halloween when u were targeting for lamps?
        Love the decorations!

        1. Jennifer

Not really. I haven’t been into Target holiday clearance lately! I am sure I will go crazy after Christmas though. I did get a wooden tray and a wooden lantern thing though.

We got the ottomans before we had kids, and they open up for storage, so we use them for kids toys. I probably should have used them in a different room!

Looks great especially with the holiday decorations. It’s making me want to start decorating myself!

    Hi Jen,
Love the new couch and pillows and yes you do need more pillows? By the way, I signed up for the gift exchange, can’t wait for the details. Thanks for doing this, I know I could trust you to organize this and make sure no problems arise.

      B’s at his pillow limit!

I signed up for your Secret Santa. 🙂 I hope I get to be Santa for someone who likes the outdoors!

Also, is there a place to put a general tidbit? I’ve added some things to my wishlist but I’d like to just give a general list of things I’m into (and would appreciate the same for the name I draw) and let Santa get creative.

I’m going to sign up for the secret Santa and want to make sure I understand how it goes(1st time doing this). So we sign up, you match us with someone, place fun items (that is on their wish list) in a box, go to post office and Mail gift to their address. Is this correct?? Can gifts be from subscription boxes??

    1. Jennifer

You got it! And yes, they totally can be from subscription boxes!

Aw, I have an Ektorp too and love it! It’s more brown though, and just a three seat. My baby is three months old and spits up all. the. time. It really cleans up nicely. I did think too though if it gets utterly destroyed we could just go get a new cover. Plus you can’t beat Ikea’s warranties on some of their furniture. We have a $400 foam mattress from them with a 25 year warranty! Such a good deal.
