BarkBox January 2016 Subscription Box

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Each monthly box contains a combination of 4-6 treats, toys, and hygiene products that have been hand selected and approved by Scout (the dog), head product tester for BarkBox. All treats included in the boxes are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, so you can be assured that your pet is only getting safe, high-quality items. Boxes can be customized based on the size of your pet (I get the Small box for the furries) and you can add an additional toy to your box for an extra $9/month. We have been getting BarkBox for ages and have always been satisfied with them.

The Box

BarkBox ships via DHL Global Mail (starts out with DHL and is delivered by the Post Office) and took just a few days to arrive this month. I generally expect it to arrive on or around the 20th of the month.

The Information Card

Once again the BarkBox information card didn’t include a breakdown of the products in the box.  It’s all on the App (which I still haven’t put on my phone) now though.  Anyway, My January 2016 BarkBox included the following items:

~Lucy’s Magic Bus – Handmade by Bark & Co. ($8): I love this!  It’s a Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine for my dogs!  It squeaks, but it’s not overly annoying and is just so cute.

~Sojos Good Dog Dog Treats Chicken Pot Pie ($6.99): This treats are 100% and are made in the USA. They are small and could for for any size dog, but I am going to give these to my brother for his dogs. My little dogs like the soft treats better than crunch ones like these.

~Curly Chews – 100% Lamb Ear ($1): I was just looking this up to find a price on it and guess what?  Turns out we got this rom BarkBox last month as well.  It was a huge hit again with the dogs this month, but I was very surprised to get the same item twice in a row.

Curly Chews

~Duck & Pomegranate Soft Chews for Dogs ($7): Now these are the perfect little treats for my dogs.  They are also made in the USA and are wheat, gluten, corn, and soy-free.  Baxter went absolutely crazy for these and after I gave him two he just sat there and stared at me, like where are the rest mom?

~Ozzy the Hippie ($10): LOL!  Who thinks of these toys?  I guess BarkBox thought of this one because it’s exclusive to them.  He was modeled after the “Flower Power revolutionaries of Woodstock” and has a giggle stick inside which is a fun twist!

All totaled I came up with a value of $32.99 for the groovy January 2016 BarkBox.  It’s higher than the cost of a single box, but with pet subscriptions, the real savings start to happen when you buy a 6+ month subscription. That’s what I do for this box and I always thinks it’s worth it.

Do you subscribe to BarkBox?  What’d you think of this month’s box?  If you want to subscribe or learn more, click here. A monthly subscription is $29/month, but if you opt for a longer subscription, the price drops as low as $18/month (that’s what I get)!  And you can use the code “RAMBLING” to save 15% off ANY subscription plan!
