Doodle Crate is one of the new(er) lines in the Kiwi Crate family. Designed for girls ages 9-16, Doodle Crate includes all the materials and inspiration for DIY projects such as patterned pouches, friendship bracelets, or colorful candles. Crates encourage girls to tackle new challenges and gain creative confidence!
Doodle Crate ships via FedEx Smart Post and usually takes about a week to arrive to me.
I never know what to expect from Doodle Crate, but this one looked interesting.
The March 2016 Doodle Crate theme was “Weaving and Tapestry Design”. I vaguely recall having a loom to make pot holders (random) when I was in middle school, but it’s clearly been a while since I used one.
The information booklet includes very detailed instructions on how to complete each month’s project. If you have additional questions, you can refer to their monthly YouTube tutorials.
The crate included the materials necessary to make the loom and then all of the materials to make the tapestry.
My cousin (who is actually right in the age range for this box) made the loom and had no trouble with it at all. You needed to glue the pieces together and then let it dry for about two hours before starting on your tapestry.
