BOXWALLA Beauty Box August 2016 Subscription Box Review

Boxwalla boxes (the boxes themselves) are probably one of the most interesting boxes out there. They are made in India from tree-free handmade paper. The boxes are made out of cotton scraps, using the traditional art of paper-making that involves nine steps and takes several weeks. The handmade paper is then meticulously fashioned into the boxes that the goodies get shipped in.

The August 2016 Boxwalla Beauty Box features the following beauty secrets of the Wandering Woman:

~Biodara Creme de Clay Purifying Mask (15mL) ($8.80): The Biodara Mask contains therapeutic bentonite clay and roasted bamboo salts to draw out impurities and detoxify the skin.  I thought the consistency would be more mud like, but it has more of a jelly consistency.  You leave it on for 15 minutes (it doesn’t harden or dry) and then rinse with warm water.  I didn’t see a difference, but I did feel like my skin was nicely moisturized from it.

~MOSS Healing Dew (20mL) ($68): Healing Dew is a lightweight gel that is ideal for soothing and healing acne-prone skin.  This is me!  It’s oil-free and is an odd rust color.  I can’t quite place the smell (it’s herbal, but it reminds me of something), but it’s different.  I did like the way it made my skin feel (it warmed it a little), and I could see a decrease in the redness.

~Odacite Ac+R Serum Concentrate (5mL / 0.17oz) ($55): This serum addresses all aspects of skin aging (wrinkles & firmness, tone, texture, and hydration).  I would call it more of an oil than a serum, but I am looking forward to seeing some results from it.   It has a rose scent, but I didn’t think it was overpowering at all.  You can use it alone or mix it with your favorite moisturizer.

~Odacite Ba+ Eye Contour Serum Concentrate (.7mL) ($5.88): The box also included a deluxe sample of Ba+S eye contour serum concentrate.  It reduces wrinkles and increases the elasticity of the skin around your eye area.  It’s also more of an oil than your typical serum, but it absorbed quickly.  I also found that a little goes a long way, so this sample should last a while.

All totaled I came up with a value of $137.68 for the August 2016 Boxwalla Beauty Box.  That is an amazing value, and they do such a great job with curating their boxes. They select items that I have never heard of before, and I love that!
