Stitch Fix September 2016 Subscription Box Review

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix shipped via FedEx (out of Dallas) this month and took just a few days to arrive. Stitch Fix ships from a few different warehouse locations in the US. I used to think they shipped based on your location, but I’m not so sure anymore.

You know, when I first looked at this Fix I was just meh.  Little did I know as I was unboxing it, that it was basically the best Fix ever.

I have a bad habit of leaving my “Stylist Notes” section blank on my Stitch Fix account.  I kind of just let them go with it on my fixes and pick out whatever they think would work.

My September 2016 Stitch Fix (which is Fix #36 for me) contained the following:

~TOMS Seasonal Classic Slip-On Flats ($49): I love TOMS and the color on these is amazing!  I just bought a pair of Red TOMS from Sam’s Club, but am thinking about returning them and keeping these. TOMS are comfortable and cute, which is what I look for in a shoe 99% of the time these days.  Verdict: Kept (I think).

~Market & Spruce Chaplin Lined Hooded Anorak Jacket ($94):  Eek!  I needed a fall jacket, and here it is.  I don’t think the price point is crazy, and I just love the jacket. It’s got a fun striped lining and is super comfortable.  Verdict: Kept.

~Just Black Aly Skinny Jean ($78): These are the most perfect jeans ever.  They are a little stretchy (but not crazy stretchy), and the wash is totally me.  When I think of jeans for Fall, these are what I think of. Verdict: Kept.

~Olive & Oak Mulliken Raglan Striped Knit Shirt ($48): I have never pinned this shirt for me stylist, but I have eyed it in plenty fixes and wished it would come in my FIX.  And here it is.  It’s SO soft, and I just love the contrast between the stripes on the arms and the stripes on the body. Under a jacket, you’d never even know about the fun sleeves.  LOVE. Verdict: Kept.

~Loveappella Tiffina Knit Top ($54): This so soft and cozy.  It’s a thin sweatshirt material with a soft fuzzy inside. I love the v-neck, the length, the color, just everything.  The sleeves are long (I like that) and have fun striped details.  I do wish it had a little more give to it, but overall it’s still fabulous. Verdict: Kept (I think).

This was my best Stitch Fix “FIX” ever.  I don’t want to keep everything, but everything was just so perfect that it may be hard not to.  If I keep everything in the box, it will be $221.50 (plus the $20 styling fee I already paid).  Since you have to purchase all 5 to get the 25% off discount, keeping everything (and returning my red TOMS) may just be the way to go.  I am not sure if I have ever mentioned it, but there is a fabulous Stitch Fix B/S/T on Facebook.  If you get four items in a FIX you love and one you don’t, you can list your fifth item in there.  It’s very active and also a great place to check out what pieces Stitch Fix is currently stocking.  Ohh, I also want to mention that Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing!  My SIL recently got a fix where two of her dresses don’t fit perfect (but she loved them and also loved the three other items in her FIX) and was torn between keeping and making the sizes work or returning and losing the discount.  Now she doesn’t have to decide.  She can get the dresses that fit and get the discount!

Do you get Stitch Fix?  What have been your favorite items you’ve received so far?  If you haven’t checked out Stitch Fix but want to give it a try, click here.  And don’t forget, the better feedback and more information you give, the better chance you will have to get amazing Fixes that work for you!

Spread the love

You know they do a Stitch Fix for men now? I’m so curious to see some reviews; I don’t think my husband would go for it since his “style” (ahem) is too plain, but I’m so tempted!

Yes! I subscribed for my husband. I am so excited (he is too). The style profile asked a ton of questions so I am curious to see how closely they “get” him!
