My September 2017 Julep included the following items:

~Lina (Wonder Maven) ($11.20 / $14): Lina is a Lunar Gold Metallic.  I would call this a muted gold.  I was happy with the coverage and think two coats shoudl do the job nicely.

~Kay (Classic With A Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Kay is a Warm Taupe with Gold Microshimmer.  This one was thinner than I expected.  For me, to get nice coverage, will be three coats.  Plus a base coat.

~Julep Mattifying Illuminating Treatment Primer Blank Canvas ($22.40 / $28): This primer is designed to provide an “even canvas for makeup that lasts all day as it absorbs excess oil”. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either.  It felt nice on my skin and smells good, but I can’t say that it left my skin looking less shiny?  I probably wouldn’t get this one again. ETA: No wonder ths didn’t take away shine – this is the Illuminating Primer, not the Mattifying Primer.  I could have sworn I purchased the Mattifying Primer and didn’t even pay attention to the tube when I got it (#fail).  Now that I know this is not supposed to take away shine (LOL), I do like it more, but it’s still not a love as I didn’t feel like it brightened my skin either.
Julep Review + Coupon Code - September 2017All totaled my September 217 Julep box had a value of $44.80.  I picked this box, so it’s hard to be disappointed with it, but I also wasn’t impressed.  I was just expecting a tad more from the primer I guess.

Umm…that’s the illuminating primer lol. Maybe that’s why it didn’t help with shine. Did they send you the wrong one?

OMG I am cracking up. That clearly is why it didn’t help with shine! I swear I ordered the Mattifying one and didn’t even pay attention to the label. Lesson learned!
