The February 2018 Piquant Post included the following items:

~Spicy Tangerine: Spicy Tangerine is a combination of Dried Tangerine Peel, Ginger, and Crushed Red Pepper.  The recipe for this one is Tangerine Beef. The card gives a little history of tangerines during the Chinese New Year along with a full ingredient list and detail instructions.  If you misplace the recipe cards, they can also be found online.  The online version also includes helpful tips for cooking and Alternatives & Substitutions!

~Chinese 5 Spice: Chinese 5 Spice includes Cinnamon, Fennel Seed, Cloves, Sichuan Pepper, and Star Anise.  The recipe is for 5 Spice Chicken Thighs. Piquant Post included enough for the recipe, plus some to try on oatmeal, yogurt, baked goods, soups, bolognese sauce, BBQ meats, or even in your coffee/tea!

~Salt & 2 Pepper: Salt & 2 Pepper is a blend of white pepper, Sichuan pepper, and sea salt.  The included recipe is for Sale & 2 Pepper Shrimp.  It takes just minutes to prepare, and if you don’t like shrimp, you can swap for tofu, calamari rings or chunks of any flaky white fish.

~Silk Road Spice: Silk Road Spice is a mix of cumin, sesame seeds, cayenne, garlic powder, and Sichuan pepper. The included recipe is for spicy tofu steaks. If you prefer a meat dish, they also recommend it with lamb chops or beef.
