Kroger has jumped into the packaged meal market with their new line – Prep + Pared. Prep + Pared kits are sold in-store only (select Kroger locations) range in price from $14 to $20. They feed two adults and include fresh, seasonal ingredients which are prepped and measured, so there is no waste.

My local Kroger had seven or so different kits to choose from including Cripsy Pork Chop, Hummus Baked Chicken, Black Bean Street Cakes, Shrimp Scampi with Lemon Garlic Fettuccini, Carne Asada with Fajita Vegetables and Refried Black Beans and more.
Our Selection
We opted for the Hummus Baked Chicken. It was $16 (with our Kroger Plus Card) and included:
~1 Cup Chickpeas
~1 Lemon
~1 1/2 tsp. Minced Garlic
~2 Cups Cooked Orzo
~1/3 Cup Diced Red Bell Peppers
~1 1/2 Cup Dried Zucchini
~12oz. Chicken Breast
~3 Tbsp. Feta Cheese
Everything was neatly packaged and perfectly fresh.
My husband (aka B) made this and found the instructions to be clear and easy to follow. The instructions say that this should take 20 minutes to make, but (just like the last recipe), this was not the case. The chicken was supposed to bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees (or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees). We found that we needed an additional 5 minutes to cook it thru.
