Play! by Sephora Review - October 2018

Play! by Sephora has switched to recycled bags (they previous sent cloth bags) and I love them. I usually ended up tossing the drawstring cloth ones, but I will save these resealable ones.

The October 2018 Play! by Sephora theme is “Scary-Good Beauty” and included the following items:

~CLINIQUE Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen (~$10): I never wear eyeliner, so this is something I will be passing along to a friend.  It’s designed for 24-hour wear and gets fantastic reviews on Sephora, but I’d be okay with never receiving eyeliner in a subscription box again.

~tarte Quench Hydrating Primer (7mL) ($7.47): This primer smells amazing while also helping to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I found it very hydrating and did think it made my skin look smoother.

~fresh Rose Face Mask Mini (1.5mL) ($1.25): Another amazing smelling product!  It’s ultra-hydrating and made my skin feel supple, soothed and soft.

~bareMinerals Gen Nude Lip Lacquer (Everything) (2mL) ($10.27): Finally a shiny gloss!  I feel like we have been getting a lot of matte lip products in boxes lately, so this was super welcome.  And I love it.  The shade is amazing (it’s everything).  It’s a muted mauve and is just gorgeous.

~Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (10mL) ($26.33): Send me all the serums!  It combats dark spots, evens skin tone, and boosts radiance.  The sample size is generous, so I’ll know by the time this runs out if it’s right for me or not.  So far, so good.

~Yves Saint Laurent Eau de Parfum Mon Paris (1.2mL) ($2.40): This has top notes of red berries and pear, middle notes of the white datura flower and base notes of creamy white musks and patchouli. It sounds like a lot, but it works.

All totaled my October 2018 Play! by Sephora had a value of $57.72.  Yes, my $10 box had a value of nearly $60.  WOW!

What did you think of the October 2018 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
