~Good morning. Well I guess it’s afternoon now. We spent last week in Gulf Shores, AL (with stops in Nashville), so we are moving a little slower than normal this week. The kids have am asynchronous learning day, which is a nice transition day. We had never been to Gulf Shores before, but wanted to do some place we could drive to, and also some place we have never been before, so Gulf Shores it was. The beaches were gorgeous. White sand, super clean. Just beautiful. We rented a pet-friendly VRBO right on the beach and brought our oldest dog (Buddy). He’s almost 14 and really can’t hack it at the pet-resort anymore we wanted to bring him along. I think he enjoyed himself. LOL. I’d say the big highlight of our trip was deep-sea fishing. We did a charter through Fins & Family in Orange Beach and we all caught a bunch of fish. We went about 30 miles off-shore and had the most delicious dinner (Vermilion Snapper and Triggerfish).
~We actually spent the night in Nashville on the way down and on the way back. We stayed at the Moxy Vanderbilt on the way down and the Moxy Downtown Nashville on the way back. Both were great (you check-in at the bar at each hotel) and pet-friendly. On the first trip we went to Uncommon James and Living with Landyn at the L&L Marketplace and grabbed carry down from a burger place near Vanderbilt (what a cute area). I am going to do a mini review on both stores because I had a lot of interest on Instagram. I had never been to downtown Nashville before and it was smaller than I had expected. Everything is RIGHT THERE! Also, louder. It’s been SO LONG since I heard live music like that. We grabbed an early dinner, walked around Broadway, did some shopping and went back to the hotel before things got too crazy (the party in downtown Nashville was for sure getting started). I will for sure go back there, but probably not with the kids next time. LOL!!!
~In other news, we watched the series finale of Shameless yesterday and I can’t believe that’s it! Ugh. I don’t want to spoil it if you didn’t watch yet, but if you have seen it, can we talk about it?? All I will saw now is that I did not like the ending. Now we need a new series. What have you been watching?
