The April / May 2022 CrateChef Curator has been revealed.  The April / May 2022 curator is Ali Slagle.

From CrateChef:

Known for her reassuring calmness and puckish curiosity, Ali Slagle is a star recipe developer and home cook. Her culinary approach blends creativity with flexibility, which shines in her contributions to the New York Times, Bon Appétit and Martha Stewart, among others. We’re excited to feature her and her upcoming CrateChef box this month!

Before kicking off her freelance career, Ali cut her teeth on the editorial and creative teams at Food52. She also edited books (mostly cookbooks) for Penguin Randomhouse, including the award-winning New York Times-bestselling cookbook Genius Recipes. From testing recipes to food styling, she has created a career defined by thoughtfulness and delight.

Ali has a desire for everyone everywhere to make great food, fast. This sentiment has set the stage for her debut spring-release cookbook I Dream of Dinner (so You Don’t Have to), which SPOILER ALERT… (skip to the next paragraph if you don’t want to know) a signed copy will be included in this month’s CrateChef box.

Entirely dedicated to fast, flexible evening meals, the book allows home cooks to use what they have and make what they want. Dishes like her Olive Oil-Braised Chickpeas and Farro Carbonara come together with fewer than eight ingredients and forty-five minutes. Minimal ingredients, maximum joy.

She’s currently working from the road in her Japanese camper van, but normally she’s based in Brooklyn—without a dishwasher, food processor, or stand mixer. And no matter where she is, she’s thinking of clever, uncomplicated ways to make meals that spark everyday magic.
