After years of lusting after a new entertainment center, I finally took the plunge last month and ordered one. Every year I redeem my husband’s Delta miles (he flies ALOT) for Pottery Barn gift cards. I was debating between office furniture and an entertainment center and the entertainment center won.

Since Pottery Barn charges an arm and a leg for shipping (seriously it’s insane) I always create a registry before my big furniture purchases so I can at least save a couple hundred bucks. I know,I know. It’s wrong and I shouldn’t do it. Whatever. They shouldn’t charge outrageous shipping prices and never allow codes to be used on furniture. Doing this has probably “saved” me in excess of $1,000 over the years. I am sure if I stopped buying Pottery Barn furniture I could save more, but what can I say, I love the stuff.

The delivery went off with almost no hitches. After the delivery guys left I realized I was missing two shelves. I have never had a delivery without an issue from PB so I now have my own customer service contact! Cheryl was great (as always) and the shelves will be arriving soon! I blame the majority of my delivery issues on the local company PB contracts deliveries too. I have had muddy shoe prints on my carpet, scratched walls, dusty furniture, delayed deliveries, broken chairs, etc. So really I think that 10% off is justified.

Once we got the entertainment center my husband and I decided we needed the tv mounted. He wanted to do it himself but I vetoed that idea real fast. I hired a local home theatre installation company who did a fabulous job but took forever and charged by the hour. Ouch. I an ashamed to admit the price and try not to think about it while I watch tv!

All and all it looks great and I can’t wait to start adding some accessories to it. Anyone have any ideas???
