January Birchbox Man

This month’s theme is Resolutions. The information card said “Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account,” said Oscar Wilde. And went on to say “We’ll always take Wilde’s style advice, but this month, let’s prove him wrong on basic human nature”. So they included a handy New Year’s checklist of action items.

The Box
First Look

B received Box #7 this month, which, if you ask me, was a pretty good box. Birchbox had 16 different men’s boxes this month, which is kind of a lot for them. It seems like they were trying to get rid of some of their extra lifestyle stuff, because boxes included The Knottery Knit Ties (B got in December), Triple C Designs iSpeeker, MeUndies Boxer Briefs (B got in September), Quirky Cordies and Wrapster (B got in August) and rumbaTime watches. Hopefully 2013 means all new fresh stuff!

Here’s what was inside:

And the details:

Triple C Designs iSpeeker ($25): This actually sounds kind of neat. The speaker is magnetic (and also has a clip on the back) and you can hook it to your bike, workout clothes, etc. It seems much safer to have an actual little speaker compared to in ear headphones when you are out running. If this works as well as it says it does, I think B will really like it (and use it) too!

drinkwel 90-Capsule Bottle ($2.67): These multivitamins are designed specifically for drinkers. You are suppose to take them before you imbibe for a decidedly easier day-after. Every capsule is packed with a blend of 30 vitamins, minerals, and amino acids formulated to help your body break down alcohol. I guarantee B is going to be all over these and will be looking for a chance to test them out asap.

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub ($2.94): B loves Kiehls and this will be no exception. He’s been loving facial scrubs lately, so I think he’s going to be excited to receive this!

Lucky Tiger Liquid Cream Shave ($1.11.): I think B only uses shave cream when it comes in his Birchboxes. It’s not something he uses on a regular basis, but he will for sure use it. But would prefer something else I believe.

TOWELDRY Paste Styler ($3.60): Styling products are always welcome samples around here. B has a lot of hair and can use up samples fast! This could become a new holy grail product for him because it sounds amazing!

All totaled, this month’s Birchbox had a value of $33.10 (NOT including points for doing reviews and purchasing the box itself – which would bring the value up to $40.10), which was way more than the $20 price tag. SO worth it if you ask me. B’s going to totally love this box and will be super excited about all of the stuff inside.
