October bluum Box - "Potty Time"
October bluum Box – “Potty Time”

My October bluum “Potty Time” box arrived yesterday, along with a bunch of other goodies.  I have a lot of reviews to get posted, but let’s start with bluum.  bluum is a monthly subscription box for moms and babies, from birth to preschool.  I’ve been getting it for over a year now and still never know what to expect.

The Box

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post and didn’t sent out shipping notifications this month until my box was well on it’s way to me.  I had a FedEx tracking notification from Fosdick Corporation and it was driving me crazy that I could NOT figure it out.  It’s bluum.  So next month when I forget again, this post will be a nice reminder for me.

First Look

I hadn’t even had time to look and see what theme our box was this month before it came this month, so the first look was a total and complete surprise.

The Information Card

My October bluum theme was “Potty Time” which is the 22 month-old bluum box theme (I have WB aged up for some reason and I can’t age him back down or I will get repeat themes) and was all about, well, potty time. I mention it every month, but I think it’s important to note in case you stumble here wondering what you’ll get in your “Potty Time” box.  Although bluum uses the same themes for each monthly age group box (i.e. the 21 month-old box will always be “Brush Up”, the 20 month-old box will always be “World of Colors”, etc.), not everyone gets the same items in their box.  Box contents vary from month to month, so you don’t really ever know what you will get.  bluum e-mails you a box list with contents and links and descriptions on the day you get the box.

That said, here is what is what we received in our October “Potty Time” box:

~Happy Family Super Toddler Bars ($3): WB loves these and they are expensive, so these are great.  And they are also kind of hard to find (what from I can tell my local Target doesn’t carry them).  WB always growls at the animals on the front of these which cracks me up.

~Carson Dellosa Kid Drawn Stickers ($2.29):  WB is too young to appreciate the magic of stickers, but he will get there.  L however, does appreciate them, so I will use these when he’s practicing his writing at home.

~Priddy Books – Slide & Seek Animals ($5.39): I love books and this is another one we don’t have.  Slide and books – all books really – are awesome for WB.  And this is one that L can read to WB which is always fun.

~Kandoo Flushable Wipes (~$3):  I am afraid to actually flush flushable wipes (I watch all  shows about how bad they are for the sewer), but I will totally use these as regular wipes for WB.

Kandoo Toilet Wipes

~Two Little Hands Potty Watch ($10): WB is no where near ready for potty training (although he does enjoying pulling the toilet paper off the roll), but I may use this when he is ready. It’s a timer watch to remind your child when it’s time to go.  I wouldn’t buy a watch like this, but it’s worth a try.

~Circle of Friends Rosa’s Raspberry Detangler ($11): Hmm.  I opened the box and was like what is WB going to do with hair detangler. His hair is just not long enough for that.  I was planning to just use it myself or gift it, but when I got my information card via e-mail, it said I was getting Han’s Blueberry Shampoo, which would have been a better fit for us.  Since they sent the wrong item (according to the information card) I emailed them about the error.  I will report back when I hear from them.  ETA: I contacted them and they apologized for the error and indicated that they would send the Han’s Blueberry Shampoo as was noted on my card.  I received the package about a week after that and it contained another Rosa’s Raspberry Detangler.  I didn’t contact them again.

~Carrot Cake LUNA Bar ($1): I love LUNA bars and wouldn’t be sad if I got one in every bluum box. I don’t think I have ever had the Carrot Cake one, so this is even better!

All totaled I came up with a value of $35.68 for the October “Potty Time” bluum box. Not my favorite box ever, but had the shampoo been in the box and the watch was replaced with something else, I think I would have loved it!

Did you get bluum this month?  What’d you think?  And what was your theme?  And if you are interested in subscribing or want to learn more, click here.  I believe the coupon code “PAMPERS” still works for 50% off, but I’m not totally sure.  Hopefully someone that has subscribed recently will let me know so I can update!
