January 2014 Q Box
January 2014 Q Box

Q Box, who sent me this box to review, sends 5-7 hand-selected items in beauty, fashion, accessories, home from mainly Japanese and Korean brands. Boxes are $24.95/month and promise to include full sized products with a value of $60+.

The Box

Q Box ships from Canada and took slightly over a week to arrive to me.  Not too bad I don’t think.  I always get excited when I get a package from another country and this one was no exception!

First Look

I’d seen a few other January 2014 Q Box boxes, but I didn’t peek too closely at them because I actually did want to be surprised on them!  And this isn’t a problem specific to Q Box, but I think sometimes when boxes have a lot of stuff in them, no matter what the stuff is, pictures will sometimes make it look messy.  I need to work on how to take a better picture in those cases!

The Information Card

Q Box doesn’t have a monthly theme, however, they do have a cute information card.  It has pictures, prices, descriptions, etc.  Here is what my Q Box included:

~Mom Bird’s Nest Necklace ($23.99): Not really my style, but I do some some of the Etsy next birthstone necklaces!  I will probably end up gifting this to a friend who would enjoy it more.

~Crystal Touch Screen Stylus / Ballpoint Pen ($15.99): One side is a pen and the other side is a stylus.  We can always use another stylus around here, so I will throw this in my purse so L can practice his letters (he has an App called Handwriting Without Tears) on his iPad when we are out and about.

~Bow Magic Leak Proof Silicone Mug / Cup Lid ($8.99): I am both intrigued and confused by this.  It’s supposed to be a leak proof lid, but there is no way I am putting this on a cup of coffee to test it out.  I am scared!  I do like the idea of putting it on the top of a mug to help keep the beverage warm though!

~Hello Kitty Cable Cord Holder Clip ($5.99): I need these for pretty every cord I have!  I already hooked one of these up on my phone charger and need to do the mess of cords in my bag next!

~Metal Feathers Shaped Reading Bookmark ($5.99):  I’ll use this, but I’m not overly excited about it.  Oh, and I should mention that I am using prices stated on the information card for this one because they were super hard to find elsewhere.

~Mini Berkin Bag Coin Case ($4.99): Probably the closet I’ll ever get to owning a real Birkin, so I’m happy with it.  It’s cute and I’ll find some treasures to put in it.

~Sparrow Keyring and Key Holder ($12.99):  This is for sure my favorite item in the box and I don’t know where I am going to put it up yet, but it’s for sure going up somewhere!  Will this help me keep better track of my keys?  I don’t know about that, but it’s really cute.

~Snacks: While not on the card, the package also included a few snacks, including a 100 Calorie pack that I have never seen in the States (I think it’s a Canandian goodie).  I’d love if they included snacks from Japan / Korea in this one in the future!

Snacks

All totaled the January 2014 Q Box had a value (per the information card) of $78.93.  Would I pay nearly $80 for everything? No.  But the $24.95 price tag (plus $7.50 shipping) seems much more reasonable!  I am liking this box for a tween / teen!

March Q Box

The February Q Box is already sold out, but if you are interested in signing up for March (not sure if that’s the box pictured above or if they are just giving examples) or just want to learn more, click here.  And don’t forget to use the code “ENJOY1ST” to save 10% off your first box!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was sent for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
