Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between!  Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, I subscribed last month when they had a crazy good deal going on.  They had a $20 off code, which is now expired, that brought the cost of an annual subscription down to $6.58/month and I just couldn’t pass that up.

The Box

Beauty Box 5 ships via DHL Global Mail.  It starts out in DHL’s hands and is then delivered by USPS.  I received by shipping notification on March 8th and my box arrived yesterday (the 11th), but it looks like it started it’s journey to me back on the 5th.  BB5 suggests it will take 5-7 days from the ship date to arrive which was spot on.

First Look

I was pretty pleased with the first look.  I didn’t recognize a few of the brands in the box which I always consider to be a good thing.

The Information Card

The March 2014 Beauty Box 5 theme is “Out with the old, in with the new!”  The focus is on throwing out the makeup we never use, stoping bad habits and zoning in on our top beauty goal – clean, gorgeous skin.  Here is what was included:

~Jane’s Pick All Natural Soaps (Kind) (~$1): This smells great, but I am not too sure how many uses I will be able to get out of it?  It’s kind of bendy already and I am afraid it will break.  Although, I know some people have mentioned soap sacks, which might just be what I need to get into bar soaps.

~Tree Hut Shea Body Butter (Coconut Lime) ($1.82): Ohh, I love this.  It’s the perfect little size for traveling and I can always use more body butter.  This winter has wreaked total havoc on my skin.  Just seeing this makes me think I need some on my legs.  The scent is fabulous and if I close my eyes super tight I can smell summer.

~Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base ($18.99): This can be used as a concealer, illuminator and / or eyeshadow primer.  I am going to use for “imperfections” under BB cream when I need a little extra coverage.

~H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream ($2.67): I love this! It’s not greasy and works great.  And it’s the perfect size for my purse.  It doesn’t smell amazing, but I can look past that because it works so well.

H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream

~Swissco Dual-Sided Facial Pad ($2): I probably wouldn’t buy this on my own, but I will use it.  My only issue with things like this is how long can I keep it before it needs to be replaced?  I never know and I think I throw them away too soon?

All totaled I came up with a value of about $26.48 for the March 2014 Beauty Box 5.  I am totally happy with my decision to take advantage of that offer they had and think this was well worth the $6.58/month I am paying!!

Do you subscribe to Beauty Box 5?  What’d you get in your box this month?  I know there were some variations, but everything looked pretty good from what I saw.  If you are interested in subscribing or want to check out more, click here.  I don’t know of any current coupon codes, but I will post if I hear of any!
