May 2014 bluum (29 month-old boy)

Yesterday was another amazing mail day around here and one of the boxes I received was my May 2014 bluum box!  I think of all the boxes I received yesterday, bluum was the one I was most curious about!  I just never know what they will be sending.

If you aren’t familiar, bluum (who recently acquired Stork Stack), is a monthly box of goodies for moms and babies.  Products are hand selected based on your child’s age (from pregnancy to preschool), gender and developmental stage.

The Box

bluum ships via FedEx Smart Post.  It took just under a week to arrive which is about average.

First Look

The box looked pretty full and while I couldn’t see too much, I did like what I saw.

The Information Card

bluum sends out boxes which include products are based on your child’s age, gender and developmental stage and no longer do a “themed” box.  Products in the monthly boxes still change from month to month, so if you are expecting a 29 Month-Old (we have WB aged up) box next month it will likely be different.  Heck, it might even be different if you received a 29-month old box this month.  You never know what you are going to get with bluum and it keeps me intrigued! Here is what our May 2014 bluum box included:

~A Slide and Surprise Numbers Book ($5.94): Probably not a book I would grab at the store on my own, but it’s certainly revenant and it seems nice and sturdy so WB won’t be able to wreck it right away.  He does like to read books more now, but he’s super rough with them.

~Bitsy’s Brainfood Zucchini Gingerbread & Carrot Smart Cookies ($2.49): These are always a bit hit with the kids.  And I have trued them as well and they are better than they sound.

~Banz Kids Sunglasses ($17): We got a blue pair of these (from bluum I believe) last summer and WB used them a bunch.  I am hoping that I can keep these on him this year as well.  He usually spends most of his time wearing sunglasses taking them off, putting them off, taking them off, etc.  These have a band though, so maybe it will be different.

~Melissa & Doug Chunky Scene Puzzle ($9.99): WB is into puzzles and will be happy to get his hands on this one.  It does seem a little young no?  I know it says 2+ on the package, but it seems like it might be for a slightly younger crowd.  But like I said, WB will love it!

~Flap Happy Boys Summer Hat ($16.95): The hat in the information e-mail we received shows a hat with flips, but I like this one better, so I am not going to e-mail.  This is going to be a bit like the sunglasses.  If I can get WB to wear it, it will be awesome.  Otherwise, not so much.

L helped me unbox this one and volunteered to be my model for a picture!  As you can see, the hat fits him perfect, so WB is going to have to grow into it.  The sunglasses are resizable, so that’s not an issue at all.

Best model ever.

All totaled I came up with a value of $52.37 for the May 2014 bluum box!  That was over double the $24.95 cost of the box and is a great deal.  I liked this box, but I will LOVE it if WB can keep the sunglasses (and hat) on few at least 10 minutes straight!
