Citrus Lane Mystery Box

I haven’t bought a Citrus Lane Mystery box in a while now, but I couldn’t resist their latest “Mini Vehicles” one.  They revealed that it would include the blue and red vehicles you see above and the rest was a mystery!

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child.   They also have been offering Mystery Boxes every few weeks for a while now.  This particular mystery box was $29, was aimed at children 2+years of age and promised a value of $60+.

The Box

As usual, Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took about a week to arrive.

First Look

The first look was kind of meh.  I have been getting Citrus Lane for years and I know the Mystery Boxes contain duplicates from previous boxes (I mean they flat out tell you they will contain duplicates), but I am still surprised by it for whatever reason.

Citrus Lane Mystery Boxes don’t include an information card, but out “Set of 2 Mini Vehicles” box contained the following:

~Up, Up, Up! from Barefoot Books ($9.99): We have this book / cd set and I would say that WB is a fan.  We can only play the cd in the car though because we don’t have a cd player in the house!  I didn’t even realize I had one in my car for a few months after I got it.  LOL!

~Bumkins Lunch Bag ($12.95): At first I wasn’t thrilled with this because why do I need two of the same lunch bags?  Well, let me tell you.  So the boys don’t fight.  They like to have lunch and snacks in the swing set and these will work well to pack their stuff in so that they will feel like they are really having a picnic out there.

~Hohner Tambourine ($13): I can hear the noise this thing makes just by looking at it.  LOL.  I set up a bin with ALL of our musical instruments and it gets loud when they all play.  So loud.  WB is typically on the cymbals, but L mixes it up and will usually play 2-3 at a time.  They have a great time with them, but man is it loud ;).

~Creativity for Kids Parachute Fliers ($5.11): These are fun to play / race with.  We have a set that L will play with and drop from the top of the stairs into our entryway or from the top of his swing set to see who wins.  The spare set is much appreciated because these do not last forever.

Creativity for Kids Parachute Fliers

~Kid O Go Mini Blue Car ($11.99) & Mini Tug Boat (~$10): These were totally the reason I bought this box.  We have a larger red tugboat we got from the CL shop months and months ago and I love it.   It’s made from a heavy plastic and always looks brand new, no matter what.

Mini Vehicles

~Tools & Things from Green Toys (~$10): This came in a Citrus Lane box a few months ago, but you can never have enough tools can you?  I think that’s the motto B lives by and I think L and WB are quickly learning this is true.

Green Toys Tools n’ Things

~Eco-Kids Dough ($4): Slowly but surely I am collecting all the colors of this dough!  It’s a great play dough and is very soft and easy to create things with.  The kids always go for these over any other kinds of play dough we have at the house.

Eco-Kids Dough

All totaled I came up with a value of $77.04 for the Citrus Lane “Set of 2 Mini Vehicles” Mystery Box.  Considering that it was only $29, I am very pleased with it!  The value worked out to be more than double the cost, so I don’t feel badly that a few of the items were duplicates.

Did you get a Citrus Lane Mystery Box? Which one did you pick and what was in it? All of the Mystery Box options are currently sold out, but I will let you know as soon as more are released!
