WB’s December 2014 Austin Lloyd box is here and I somehow managed to open it up and take all the pictures and WB didn’t even realize it. I was hoping to use some of the items in the box for Christmas gifts and it worked!
In case you aren’t familiar, Austin Lloyd, is a subscription box of educational toys for children aged 3 and under. They aim to take the guess work out of choosing toys that your child will enjoy, while also gaining skills that aide in their overall development. Each box contains 4-5 educational toys and typically at least one book.
Austin Lloyd ships via USPS and took only a few days to arrive. They ship Priority Mail out of Atlanta, so it never takes too long.
As usual, everything was beautifully packaged and personally addressed to WB. They do such a beautiful job that I always have to at least pause for a second to admire it before I rip into it.
Once I saw what was inside I was quite happy because I knew I could use all of it for Christmas gifts!
The box included a general information card about the Play Level (we selected 2-3 years of age for WB – you can read more about them here) of the box which gives some general information on how your child is playing at this age, as well as, individual information cards (not pictured). The December 2014 Austin Lloyd box theme was “Austin Lloyd Favorites” and included the following items:
~Plan Toys Braille Numbers 1 – 10 ($20): We received the Sign Language Number Set in our Googaro Box last month, which was fairly similar, but that is fine with me! Because now we can do addition and subtraction with them too. And the backs of these have leaves that match the number on the front so you can practice counting too.
~plui Rain Cloud ($13): So. cool. I have never heard of this brand before but I know think this is the best bath toy ever. I had to take it out of the package and test it out because I thought it was so neat. You fill it up with water and when you cover the hole on the top no rain comes out. When uncovered, it rains!
~Alexander Girard Blocks ($13.17): The card shows the retail price on these at $24.95, but I saw them online for $13.17. When I use online prices I make sure it’s from a store I would actually buy from and this shop actually looks really cute. Anyway, these blocks are great. They are two different puzzles in one, plus fun shapes and the full alphabet!
~The Tickle Tree ($4.80): Just in the past week or so WB has been really getting into “reading”. Which to him is just looking at books and saying “I reading”, but it’s better than before. This book looks adorable and will make a great stocking stuffer!
All totaled I came up with a value of $50.97 for the December 2014 Austin Lloyd Box. It was just about equal to the cost of the box, but I used sale prices and this box saves you the trouble of having to go to the store yourself! I love the brands they select and always feel like the items are well suited for WB’s age. It’s a pricier box though, so I tend to subscribe every other month or I take a few months off here and there!
