Bramble Box, who kindly sent me this box to review, provides creative play kits containing dramatic play materials and activities. Educational and fun, Bramble Boxes promote free play. Every box contains all the materials you need and a little inspiration – all you have to add is imagination. Boxes are designed for children age 3 – 8, but could be enjoyed by a variety of ages of children over age 3. Since the activities are open ended, kids can use them in a way that best suits their play level.

First Look

I couldn’t remember exactly what Bramble Box was all about and when I saw the word “Props” on the box I was expecting like threatre props or something. I was way off base though!

Activity Ideas

The December 2014 Bramble Box theme was “Post Office”.  The box included both a listing of the contents included, as well as, a sheet with activity ideas.  It even provided instructions on how to turn your box into a little mailbox!

~Mail Bag & Vest: As you can imagine, my kids are pretty familiar with the mailman around here ;).  Only our mailman doesn’t wear a uniform.  I think we have a contract mailman or something?  I don’t know.  Anyway, L was more than happy to model this vest for me and I am planning on leaving it by the door so WB can put it on when he picks up the packages off the porch.

~Envelopes, Crayons & Notepad: I forgot to take a picture of the notepad, but it was included, I swear.  Kids can use these to “mail” letters to family and friends and you can use it to send letters for your little one too.  L is really into reading and I am thinking that this would be a fun way to practice both reading and writing.

~Sticks & “Stamps”: Also included in the box are stickers and stamps to decorate your letters with!  And the pretend stamps?  SO CUTE!  I love them!

~Laminated “My Family’s Names”: I was a tad confused by this at first, but the I realized that, depending on the age of your little one, they might not know who to spell names or who to address them too! So you can write names down for them on this and then wipe off and write more names for them.

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but I thought it was a really fun one for little ones.  I loved how open-ended it was and really did think that it would work for a variety of ages.  Anything that encourages writing and being creative is a win!

one of my girlfriend’s has a wipe off names board like that–she also uses it for the recognition so that if something happens her little boy knows what “911” looks like and things like that.

I’m not sure if my order went through. I used the code on the box above for my 6 year old. I think he will like this sub. I want him to try it out because there have been ones that I thought he would like and instead he hated them. It errored out on the shipping rate so I will contact her if I don’t hear anything.

I’ve been having problems with Yahoo email and saw that Bramble box sent me an email about this. We received the box today which he loves. We are going to sign up for a sub.

Bramble Box – If you are reading – Yahoo email won’t load on my PC and if I email by phone it sends several copies. It might cooperate tonight. Thank you for following through by emailing me.

Sometimes I feel stupid. Between my older son’s cat being in the animal hospital for 2 nights, my bil in the ICU, and my sister’s problems; I can’t think straight. Somehow I manage to place the order a day after the cutoff day and forgetting my password! It all sounds silly in the end. It’s been stressful here.

My little guy loves the box. He had a lot of fun writing letters, decorating them, decorating his mail box and delivering mail. It was a ray of sunshine.

Ahh, you have a full plate right now! I am sending good thoughts your way!
