December 2014 Hazel Lane

It’s been a bit of a long day around here (my two little ones are a bit under the weather), so I was super super to open up my December 2014 Hazel Lane box!

If you aren’t familiar, Hazel Lane sends a carefully curated box of surprise goodies from that month’s selected city that they think represents its spirit.  The idea is to give you an affordable way to explore the world without having to leave your house!  Items you can expect to see included are food, drink, clothing, accessories and handcrafted items chosen by locals with the environment, social responsibility and CHICNESS in mind. I subscribe to the “Classic” box which is $46.99/month.

The Box

Hazel Lane ships towards the end of the month via USPS Priority Mail.

First Look

The first look was so bright and fun.  I don’t remember ever seeing so much color in a Hazel Lane box and I loved it!

The Information Card

The December 2014 Hazel Lane destination was “Hawaii” and included the following finds:

~Surfer Salve ($5): This salve is made in Hawaii with all-natural ingredients.  I tested it right away and I think I have found a new favorite. It’s a great lip balm and also works on those dry patches that seem to pop-up in the winter.

Surfer Salve

~Coconut Floater Candle ($9.50): So not only does this smell amazing, but it also floats!  I am imagining this in the bathtub, but I would probably turn the jets on and make it go out (or worse), so I should probably figure out a new plan.

~Kauai Coconut Kona Coffee Pecans & Macadamia Nuts ($6): These are going to be a B item.  They smell good, but that combination of items just isn’t very me.

~Zenziva Body Scrub ($12): I absolutely cannot wait to use this!  It’s made from coffee and sugar (and of course chocolate) and if you can, they suggest using it on the beach. That’s not going to happen in Michigan in December, so my shower will have to do.

~Pin Buttons ($6): Very cute and I am going to pin them on some of my tote bags and luggage as they suggest.  I could use a little Aloha everywhere I go.

Pin Buttons

~Gypsy Photography Piece ($12): I don’t know exactly where I am going to put this, but the colors on it are so vivid and beautiful.

All totaled I came up with a value of $50.50 for the December 2014 Hazel Lane box.  I felt like they did a great job bringing a little Hawaii to me and I know for sure that if I were visiting Hawaii, I would have left with that scrub, surfer’s salve and floating candle on my own!
