The Information Card

The November 2014 The Gourmet Pantry BiteBox theme was “By Golly Be Jolly” and included the following items:

~Moonstruck Chocolate Company Classic Hot Cocoa Mix ($12): There is no recipe card for this, but it’s the perfect addition to this box.  I haven’t tried this brand in the past so I was really excited to see it in here.  Now if it would only snow so I could sit inside and drink this and look at the pretty snow falling outside!

~Frontier Soups Roasted Garlic Spinach Dip Mix ($3.49): The recipe for this is a Roasted Garlic Spinach Dip or a Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Crostini.  I am obsessed with spinach dip and am going to try to save this for all the college bowl games on New Years Day, but we’ll just see if I can wait that long ;).

~Muirhead Foods Cranberry Apple Chutney ($7.25): The two recipes for this item are Apple Cranberry Glazed Turkey Breast and Apple Cranberry Bread Pudding.  One of the things I love about this box is that they give you these recipes because otherwise I would be sitting here looking at this like now what?

~Tumbador Chocolate Vanilla Snickerdoodle Cookie Spread ($10): Mmm, SO GOOD.  I have gotten this in the past and it’s just delicious.  I personally like it straight off the spoon or on ice-cream, but I suppose that we can try the recipe for the Snickerdoodle and Nutella Smores they included ;).

~Mustard and Co. Classic Brown Mustard ($7): Ahh, mustard.  I’m not a fan, but in a recipe if I don’t know it’s in there, it’s okay!  The recipes for this are a Rosemary & Mustard Crusted Prime Rib and Green Beans with Lemon Mustard Vinaigrette.  By the time B makes these I will forget that they have mustard in them and all will be well.

~Chef Salt 7 Salts ($10.95): The recipes for this are a Salt Rubbed Roasted Chicken with Lemon and Thyme and some kind of potato, but I think there was a printing error on that one since it’s exactly the same as the chicken.  No matter, we can figure out what to do with salt!  I swear, a great salt changes a regular meal into an incredible one.

All totaled I came up with a value of $50.69 for the November 2014 The Pantry Gourmet BiteBox!  It basically matches the cost of the box, but I think the recipes and the fact it’s all delivered right to your door add value to this as well!

I am sooo glad that BiteBox sends you review boxes — otherwise I would not have found them! I subscribed and I love their boxes. The stuff they send is so interesting and is not anything I could find at my local grocery store so I am happy even when the value of the items sent is a little below the cost of the box. Plus, shipping is free and they send heavy stuff!

Also, super funny about the recipe cards. I was looking at the recipe for the salt-rubbed chicken saying, “Why is there a picture of potatoes on the front???” And the picture of the s’mores has a square of chocolate in the middle, not the nutella in the recipe! LOL!

P.S. Love your blog. Makes my day so much more fun.

Oh man, you are in for a treat. Moonstruck is a local to me company and they are seriously good.
