Our February 2015 Austin Lloyd box arrived yesterday (it was a great mail day) and WB basically stood over my shoulder watching me open it because he was so curious to see what was inside. He likes all the boxes we get, but he really likes the ones with toys in them ;).
In case you aren’t familiar, Austin Lloyd, is a subscription box of educational toys for children aged 3 and under. They aim to take the guess work out of choosing toys that your child will enjoy, while also gaining skills that aide in their overall development. Each box contains 4-5 educational toys and typically at least one book.
Austin Lloyd ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two days to arrive to me. They generally arrive mid-month and are very good about communicating with subscribers if there is a delay (which has only happened like once).
I am used to the Austin Lloyd packaging, but I am still impressed by it. They make sure everything looks perfect and even include a personalized sticker!
The box includes a general information card about the Play Level (we selected 2-3 years of age for WB – you can read more about them here) with some general information on how your child is playing at this age, as well as, individual information cards. The February 2015 Austin Lloyd box theme was “Rhythm & Music” and included the following items:
~Matisse Dance for Joy ($5.06): Beautiful book! The images are beautiful and WB loved looking through it.
~Hape Shake It Up Duo ($12.99): Of everything in this box, WB went for this these first. He was actually wearing them like they were little bracelets. As is the case with all toys Austin Lloyd sends, these are very well made and will last a lifetime.
~Plan Toys Egg Percussion Set ($20):I think these are my favorite item in the box. At first I thought they were Easter Eggs, but an egg percussion set makes much more sense. They make a bunch of different sounds when you tap, hit or shake them and getting them to balance is fun too.
~Plan Toys Tot Drum ($20): We have (or at least I thought we did) a bunch of musical instruments here, but not a drum like this. I love the sounds it makes and it seems super durable. I don’t know how many times you could step on it and still have it survive, but you could drop it and it’d be just fine.
All totaled I came up with a value of $58.05 for the February 2015 Austin Lloyd box. Once again they nailed the theme and they always send toys I know we are going to keep forever. Seriously, my Grandkids will be playing with the Hape and Plan Toys things they send!
