January 2015 FrenchBox Subscription Review
January 2015 FrenchBox

My last January 2015 FrenchBox product arrived today so it’s review time! They have some customs delays with one of the items in the box, which delayed things a bit. Once they realized that the product wouldn’t arrive in time, they went ahead and shipped a partial box in January and then shipped the delayed item separately. FrenchBox was totally awesome about communicating the delays so I wasn’t bothered at all by it.

If you haven’t heard of them yet (they are pretty new) FrenchBox is a subscription box that brings you personalized chic products, accessories and delicacies from France every month. It contains 5 products from French brands: fashion, cosmetics, gourmet and others surprises!

The Box

FrenchBox ships via USPS Priority Mail. They typically ship mid-month, but as I mentioned, there customs issues this month so things were a bit different.

The French Box

FrenchBox ships in a gorgeous “French” box.  It’s about the size of a GLOSSYBOX – maybe a bit smaller.

First Look

The note on the top is in regards to the delayed item. They also sent out e-mails to subscribers keeping us informed about the delays.

Somehow I had avoided spoilers on this, but I was quite pleased with the first look!

The Information Card

The January 2015 FrenchBox theme was “Winter Warmth” and included the following items to help you start off your New Year feeling beautiful and fresh:

~Panier des Sens Hand Cream ($8): Fancy French hand cream?  Yep, I love it!  It felt rich, but not too thick that it wouldn’t rub into my skin.  I am probably going to try to trade for some other variations of this.  I believe there were a few different scents?  If you can’t tell from the tube, mine is Rose scented.

Panier des Sens Hand Cream

~Panier des Sens Lip Balm ($12): Again, this is totally perfect for me.  It’s a Honey Lip Balm and it’s moisturizing and smells good and well, what else do you need?  Love this too!

Panier des Sens Lip Balm

~Kusmi Tea ($5): Meh.  You know what I think about tea.  Although, I do really want to use my Tea for One set from the January Little Lace box, so maybe I will drink this.

Kusmi Tea

~Douz Me Anti-Wrinkle & Radiance Face Cream ($42): This cream is the item that was held up in customs and caused the delay.  I’d say a $40 face cream was worth the weight.  It is said to “help restore and maintain your natural oils while protecting and softening your features”.  I have no idea if it works (I just got it today and it’d take a while to tell), but I’ll try it out.

Douz Me Anti-Wrinkle & Radiance Face Cream

~L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish ($5.39): I guess I don’t really think of L’Oreal as a “french” brand, but that’s probably because you can buy it at CVS.  Basically though, if you put nail polish in a box, I am going to be happy.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish

~Potiron Candle ($12): I really don’t know what the scent is on this one, but I love it. I hope that FrenchBox sends more “home” items like this.

Potiron Candle

All totaled the January 215 FrenchBox had a value of $84.36 which is incredible since the box is only $24/month.  I more than loved this box. It had a candle, lip balm, nail polish and hand cream – all of my favorite things in one box.  If I had a subscription box, this is basically what it would include every month.   And maybe a snack and book / magazine.  This was just an awesome month for FrenchBox for me – delay and all!

Did you get FrenchBox this month?  What variations did you receive and what’d you think?  If you are interested in signing up (remember you can get your first box for only $14 using the coupon code “LVYI9GNZK9” at checkout) head on over to their site where you can also see some of the brands they will be featuring down the road.
