Beauty Box 5 March 2015 Subscription Box

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service that delivers a sample box of all things beauty. Each box contains 4 – 5 samples of a variety of makeup, skin care, fragrances and everything in between!  Boxes are $12/month if you do a month-to-month subscription, however, I subscribed a while back when they had a crazy deal that brought the cost of an annual subscription down to $6.58/month.

The Box

Beauty Box 5 ships via DHL Global Mail and took over a week to arrive to me this month.  Sometimes it’s a few days, sometimes it’s over a week. You never really know with DHL.  Boxes generally ship around the 10th of the month though and they say to give it 8 business days to arrive.

First Look

Beauty Box 5 ships in a box about the same size as a Birchbox.  I’ve found Beauty Box 5 to be pretty hit or miss for me personally, but since I got the subscription for such a great deal I am generally okay with it.

The Information Card

The March 2015 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Hustle” and included the following items:

~Eslor Introductory Collection (~$10): Beauty Box 5 actually sent out a very similar kit back in June 2014.  At first I thought it was the same exact kit, but I looked and it was different products.  I like this line well enough (I think), but the samples are so small you really don’t get enough of an idea if it really works or not.  I’d rather have one larger product than four small packets in this case.

~Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalptus Body Cream ($1.19): This lotion smells awesome and wasn’t greasy which is huge.  I don’t know that I would use this as anything more than a hand lotion though.  While I like the scent I feel like too much of it could be a bad thing.

~Scandalous by Nanacoco Thickening Mascara ($4): This is supposed to give you “va-va-voom” volume.  I don’t know that I experienced va-va-voom results, but it was okay.  I didn’t feel like enough got the on brush when I got it out of the tube though.  On the bright side it didn’t clump either because it wasn’t too overloaded with mascara.

~Styli-Style Line & Seal Twist Mechanical Eye Liner (Brown Glitter) ($4.99): I like that the liner doesn’t have to be sharpened, but since I don’t wear a ton of eyeliner I will be passing this one on to a friend.

~Laugh Out Loud by Nanacoco Lip Gloss ($3.99): For $4, I love this gloss.  It’s shiny, the color is fun and it’s not sticky at all.  And it smells like wine to me so that’s another good thing.

All totaled I came up with a value of $24.17 for the March 2015 Beauty Box 5.  I was pretty meh on this box.  Nothing really excited me or popped out to me to make this an awesome box. I really liked last month’s box, so like I said, it’s kind of hit or miss.

I get three beauty boxes and out of all of them this one was my favorite this month. I like when I can get more makeup and my other two boxes didn’t have one piece of makeup in them. I used the mascara right away and I really liked it. Love the blog.
