When Citrus Lane offered Mystery Boxes a few weeks back I decided to go ahead and pick one up. I opted for a $19/box which included a Hape Little Dump Truck and was billed as being for ages 1+.
If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 years old which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane is $29/month, but they always have great coupon codes that let you try them out very inexpensively! And every once in a while they also offer Mystery Boxes in their shop. These Mystery Boxes are usually $19 or $29 and promise to contain products worth double the cost of the box. Items are typically repeats from their monthly boxes, but they are always a great deal.
Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and took just under a week to arrive. I hadn’t seen any reveals from this batch of mystery boxes so this was a total surprise.
Lots of familiar items in this first look, but that’s to be expected with mystery boxes. They don’t include an information card, but my box had the following items:
~Hape Little Dump Truck, Green ($9.99): The main reason I ordered this mystery box was to get this truck. It might be a little “babyish”, but I knew that WB would love it. And he does. He saw it and immediately started asking about it. Hape toys are classic and will last for ages too. They are something I will end up saying for my grandchildren!
~me4kidz Cool It Buddy Reusable Soft Cold Pack ($3.99): My boys love these. They could have the littlest boo-boo, but always they NEED an ice-pack for it. And I get it because I remember getting bags of ice at the office in elementary school and those cured everything for me too.
~Oogaa Silicone Placemat ($8.99): I have a few of these and while we never used them for meal time we do use them for craft projects. The only thing with them is trying to get them to lay flat after being folded up for so long. Does anyone have any tips? I usually end up taping them down with painters tape, but there must be a better way.
~Boon Dive ($10.99): We had some of these, but I have no idea where they went. Boon has great bath toys and one of the things I like best is that you don’t have to worry about them getting all moldy and gross. Ever look inside a rubber duck or some of those squirt toys? They can get SO gross.
~Hide and Seek by Taro Gomi ($6.33): I can’t believe we don’t own this one! Taro Gomi has fabulous books (including the classic Everyone Poops) and we already love this one. It won’t replace WB’s favorite (“A Crack in the Track“), but it’s a nice change of pace.
All totaled I came up with a value of $40.29 for this Citrus Lane Mystery Box. I was quite pleased with it and loved all the variety it had it in. I wish all Citrus Lane boxes had such a great value!

I usually scroll through the kiddo subscriptions, but this one caught my eye. Particularly, the oogaa thing since the picture of the bowl and spoons looks neat! But anyway, I usually just put heavy books over things that have been rolled to flatten them out. In a day or two it’s usually completely flat. Fortunately, we have no shortage of heavy text books since my boyfriend went to school for computer science and references his old texts often.. and I have a ton of biology/chemistry books that probably weigh 500 lbs each.. that I don’t reference ever.
