The July 2015 My Pretend Place Craft Subscription activity was “Pirate Mask Project”.  The box had an information / instruction sheet, but I didn’t take a picture of it.  The instructions are self-explanatory on this one.

The Materials

The Materials

The package included two pirate masks, ten crayons and two pirate sticker books.  I wasn’t wowed by this right away, but I was happy to see that there were two of everything so both of my boys would work on a mask.

B Coloring (See how serious?  He so needs a coloring book)

L knew right away how he wanted to decorate his pirate mask and got right to work.  WB, however, wasn’t so sure.  He started off coloring his and them decorated with stickers and then make me take off all the stickers and went back to coloring.  Ultimately he decided he wanted his to look just like L’s (who could blame him since L’s looked so good), so B made it happen for him as best he could.

All Done

All Done

You know, the boys loved these.  They ran around pretending they were pirates and after only one day they have played with these longer than than I expected they would.  There was only one incident where someone got hit in the face with a pirate mask, but it was bound to happen ;).  We still have a ton of stickers left over for another time too.  A ton!

While I wasn’t overly impressed with this one to begin with my boys ended up really loving it. It may just be because they love pirates and love to talk and act like pirates, but they had a really really good time with this!

If you are interested in subscribing to My Pretend Place you can use the coupon code “pretend” to save 30% off your first box which brings the cost down to only $10.50!
