The first look wasn’t much to look at. I was hoping there were some amazing treats hiding under all that packing material!
The July 2015 Orange Glad box included the following items:
~Ice Cream Shortbread by McTavish Shortbread: My ice-cream cone arrived cracked and broken, but it still tasted delicious. It was crunchier than I expected it to be though. I was thinking it would be softer, but regardless, it was good!
~Brown Sugar Blondie by Greyston Bakery: This one is easily my favorite snack in the box. The texture is perfect and the brownie is incredible. Also, Greyston Bakery is incredible. They provide a job and employee readiness training to any individual who walks through their door looking for a job. They also offer childcare, community gardens and workforce development.
~Raspberry Jam Shortbread by A Couple of Squares: I liked the shortbread part of this cookie, but I have never been much of a fan of fruit filling in cookies Or any desserts for that matter.
~Vagabond Biscotti by Darling Gourmet Goodies: So good. These taste good with coffee, to just by themselves. They have the right amount of vanilla and have a great crunch to them.
~Bananas Foster with Dark Rum Carameled Popcorn by The Art of Caramel: There is a lot happening with this popcorn. I don’t mean that in a bad way – there’s just a lot of flavors in here! I think it’s more of a gourmet nighttime treat where just a handful will satisfy your cravings.
I never do a cost breakdown on Orange Glad and I don’t consider it to be a value subscription. It’s for sure more about the experience and the ability to try a bunch of new snacks than anything else. And for that reason, I love it! Without Orange Glad you’d have to go to the individual bakery websites and you’d end up buying a dozen cookies or a giant container of popcorn without even knowing if you love it!
