Birchbox Man September 2015 Subscription Box – “Charged Up”

Birchbox Man is $20/month and sends you monthly deliveries of deluxe grooming and lifestyle samples, tailored to your profile. With Birchbox Man you can try cult brands, up-and-coming lines, and everything in between.

The Box

Birchbox Man USPS (through Newgistics) and generally arrives during the first few days of the month.  Or at the end of the previous month like this one (and the past few month’s) did.

The Birchbox Man Box

Once again we opted for the Curated Box this month.  The September Lifestyle choices on the Standard box were Armstrong’s All Natural Leather Care Trio ($35), LSTN Earbuds ($50) or an AM Labs Clean Screen Trio ($24.95), but B liked the looks of the curated “Charged Up” box better.

First Look

This month’s box was heavy!  I didn’t recall what all this box contained so opening it up was fun.

The Information Card

The September 2015 “Charged Up” Birchbox Man box contained the following energizing alternatives to help you put a little spring in your step:

~Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli (~$2): This smells fabulous (it’s a blend of orange blossom, vanilla and musk), but we have already received so many scents from this brand. I would love it if they mixed it up a little.

Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli

~CW Beggs and Sons Face Wash (15mL / 0.51 fl.oz) ($1.37): This is a nice mild cleanser, but I wouldn’t call it anything to write home about.  B’s skin isn’t sensitive and doesn’t break out from switching products like mine does so he can throw this one in his gym bag and use a different one at home.

~Das Boom Industries Body Brick – West Indies (6g / 0.21oz) ($2.10): Love this.  It’s a soap-infused sponge and surprisingly I love the scent. It’s described as a combination of “Bay Rum, Smoke & Dirt” which doesn’t sound like it would be good, but it is.

~V76 by Vaughn TEX Texture Paste (7g / 0.25oz) ($3.82): I thought this had nice hold and wasn’t too sticky, but again I don’t think it’s anything to write home about.  But it’s a very nice usable product.

~Quirky Contort Power ($24.99): At first I just thought this was a “plug thing” to to allow you to use both outlets at the same time when you have an oversized plug.  But it’s much cooler than that. It’s got an AC outlet, two USB ports, and yeah an angled plug that won’t block other outlets.  It also has spots where you can wrap your cords to keep them neat and organized.  It’s very cool and I now see why B wanted this box.

~Bonus: 11-in-1 Multitool: All boxes this month came with an 11-in-1 multitool.  I am actually not even sure what all 11 uses for it are, but I do know that one is a bottle opener and that will come in very handy.

Bonus: 11-in-1 Multitool

All totaled I came up with a value of $34.28 for the September 2015 Birchbox Man “Charged Up” box. Including the points for purchasing the box (20 points = $2) and the points for reviewing the products / sharing on Facebook (50 points = $5), the real value of this box is $41.38.  The lifestyle item alone made this box worth it for is this month.  Everything else was just a bonus.
