First Look

I really enjoy PowerUp‘s selections each month.  Items tend to be fairly mainstream so not only does L recognize them so do I.The box doesn’t include an information card, but the August 2015 Premium PowerUp Box contained the following:

~Transformers Autobot T-Shirt (~$15): I couldn’t find this exact shirt online so I estimated the price. B has been wearing all the shirts we get in here.  They are soft, but are made out of a heavy cotton material.

~Sonic the Hedgehog Stress Ball ($5.99): I love stress balls and I was SO excited to see this in here.  WB just didn’t get it ;). I have a ton of them and while they don’t do anything, my boys love playing with them.  SO fun!

~Transformers Plastic Head Candy Container (~$2): Once the candy is gone from in here (and it shouldn’t be long) I am going to give this to L for his backpack.  Hanging stuff on your backpack is big for his age group, but you don’t want anything too nice on there because it could (will) end up falling off.

~POP! Futurama Bender ($8.38): I usually give the POP! vinyls to L for his room, but I think this one will end up on B’s bar ;).  L doesn’t know what Futurama is and having a figure holding a beer in his room probably isn’t appropriate for a 7 year-old!

~Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Blind Box ($5.95): It’s quite possible I like blind boxes just as much (if not more) than L.  It’s all about the surprise (which is why I love subscription boxes so much too).  We received “Foot Solider”. From the sound of it you have an equal chance of getting each of the characters in this blind box series, so none are more rare than others.

~Tweety Bird Iron-On Patch (~$4): I don’t know what I will do with this iron-on patch, but it made me smile when I saw it!

~The Simpsons Shot Glass (~$4): I couldn’t even tell you the last time I did a shot. Actually I had a shot of wine at the grocery store this weekend (when you are out grocery shopping with 8 zillion people on Sundays and they ask if you want to sample some wine, you say YES). This will be another addition to B’s bar!

All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $45.32 for the August 2015 PowerUp box.  I estimated a lot of items this month and always tend to estimate on the low side so it’s possible I undervalued this.  Either way I thought it was a fun box with lots of cute items!
