Birchbox Man USPS (through Newgistics) and generally arrives during the first few days of the month or the last few days or the previous month.

The Birchbox

We opted for the “regular” box this month instead of the curated “Movember Survival Kit“, which included: Harry’s Movember Limited Edition Truman Razor, Brothers Artisan Oil Shave Oil, Proraso Shaving Cream, Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic and DTRT Dear Matt Lotion. This box would replace your regular monthly Birchbox Man box if you selected it.

First Look

This month’s Lifestyle choices were Upstate Stock Fingerless Wool Gloves (Navy)XY Find It Bluetooth Tracker and Harry’s Limited Edition Movember Truman Razor (comes with coupon for 4 free blade).  We actually didn’t make a selection and decided to just roll the dice and see what we got.

The Card

I posted about it last month, but the Birchbox Man information card is now totally digital and can be located in your account online.  I have found Birchbox’s website to be a little finicky lately, so hopefully they get it all worked out soon.

The November 2015 Birchbox Man theme was “Stand for Something” and included the following items:

~das boom Industries Everywhere Lotion West Indies (30mL / 1oz) ($3): We have gotten a ton from das boom lately, but it’s always different scents so we don’t mind. West Indies is “a dark and earthy island blend of bay rum, smoke, and dirt”.  I didn’t think it sounded to great either, but it’s actually nice.  The other day I actually asked B if he’d been somewhere there was a campfire and he just laughed and said it was one of his products.  I guess smoke is the new scent for men.

~Upstate Stock Fingerless Gloves ($29): These were Birchbox Man’s lifestyle pick for us this month.  We actually received gloves last month (that was our pick though) as well and out of nowhere Birchbox sent us an e-mail apologizing for sending gloves two months in a row and added 50 points ($5 to spend in the Birchbox shop) to our account. I did think it was odd to get gloves two months in a row, but I wouldn’t have complained about it.  B doesn’t own a pair of fingerless gloves (well not until this box arrived anyway) so we’ll see how he likes them.

~DTRT Dear Matt Lotion (15mL / 0.5fl.oz) ($4.18): Dear Matt lotion is intended for oily skin, but will actually work for all skin types.  It works to absorb oil and leave your skin matte.  I feel like it’s kind of a primer type lotion for men?  I tried it on my own skin and thought it worked great!

~Cartier Pasha Edition Noire Eau de Toilette (.05fl.oz) ($1.62): Pasha features a “casually cool mint and citrus atop the sophisticated warmth of amber and cedar wood”. I wasn’t a big fan of this one. I think it’s the mint?  It’s probably for the best though because Birchbox Man always seems to send very expensive scents (this would be one) that we probably wouldn’t buy anyway!

~PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Moisturizing & Repairing Shampoo (30mL / 1fl.oz) ($2.75) & Conditioner (12mL / 0.41fl.oz) ($1.13): The shampoo was the sample and I believe they just sent out a conditioner as a little bonus.  I LOVE that they did this because I feel like you need to try both the shampoo and conditioner to really get an idea of the product.  B has been using my shampoos and conditioners lately, so I may have to sneak a few samples of this for myself.  He’s got great hair (probably because he doesn’t color it constantly) and doesn’t need the moisturizing and repairing elements like I do.

All totaled I came up with a value of $41.68 for the November 2015 Birchbox Man box. Including the points for purchasing the box (20 points = $2) and the points for reviewing the products / sharing on Facebook (60 points = $6), the real value of this box is $49.68.  That’s an awesome value and I thought this was a great box!
