The GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring GlobeIn‘s favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by their editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures.

The Box

GlobeIn ships via USPS. Boxes ship on the 15th of the month (I received mine early for review purposes). Orders placed after the 15th of the calendar month will ship on the 15th of the following calendar month.  If boxes sell out before the 15th your subscription will begin the following month.

I actually opened this box before I saw the full spoilers on it.  I do like to be spoiled, I have to admit that it is fun to be surprised too.

The November 2015 GlobeIn Artisan Box theme was “Bedroom” and included the following items:

~Handmade Bud Vase from Ten Thousand Village (Nepal) ($12): One of the early spoilers indicated that all of the vases will come in the same size and color, but will have slightly different shapes.  I think mine looks like the original spoiler picture, but maybe it’s a little more round?  I love the idea of having flowers in the bedroom (I never do though) and am going to try and remember to pick some up and try it next time I am out running around.

~Handwoven Bowl by Makaua (Mexico) ($10): I can’t figure out where my picture of this bowl went so I borrowed GlobeIn’s.  Mine is “natural” on the inside as supposed to the red and has a light purple on the top and the natural on the bottom – so completely the opposite of the spoiler.  The bowl was much more sturdy than I expected (it wasn’t flimsy like I’d feared) and would be ideal to store your jewelry, watches, etc.

~Seahorse Pillow Pet (Guatemala) ($22): I know some people were absolutely thrilled about seeing this pillow in the spoiler and some not so much.  I absolutely love it though.  It’s funky and cute and the company that makes the pillows (Y’abal Handicrafts) provides social programs and fair trade job opportunities for Guatemalan women weavers.

~Silk Organic Shea Butter Massage Oil Candle (Ghana) ($5): It doesn’t state this on the card, but you can use this candle as an actual lotion.  Just burn it and then blow it out and massage into your skin. You can also just use it as a regular candle. It smells fabulous so either way works!

~Palm Leaf Basket (Mexico) ($12): This month’s basket is an all-new design!  It doesn’t have a lid like previous months and I think I like it better.  GlobeIn suggests popping a box of tissues in it and keeping it on your nightstand.  Not only is this a great idea, it fits well with the theme too.

All totaled I came up with a value of $61 for the November 2015 GlobeIn Artisan Box.  I thought this box was so fun and contained a fun mixture of items!
