Hammock Pack is a monthly surprise pack filled with everything you need to take a much needed getaway without even leaving your home. Boxes are geared towards women and each month you will receive a pack filled with a mix of food, bath products, housewares, and accessories that you’d only find if you visited that month’s destination city.
Hammock Pack ships via USPS Priority Mail and is supposed to ship around the 25th of the month. They must ship in batches because some people get their boxes before mine even shipped.
I live in Michigan and I can’t say that this box jumped out as being “Michigan” to me.
The November 2015 Hammock Pack destination was “Michigan” and included the following items:
~Zingerman’s Candy Zzang Bar ($6): Zingerman’s offers a variety of different food types (they have a bakery, a deli, a candy shop, a sit-down restaurant, etc.) in Ann Arbor. We always used to go have lunch at Zingerman’s when I was in college and would go visit my friends at Michigan. It’s delicious! And so is this candy bar. It’s Snickers like, but better and with peanut butter.
~Garden Harvest Soaps Body Truth Shea Butter (Free Spirit) ($10): Free Spirit is a blend of patchouli & vanilla. It’s a little strong at first, but I thought it lightened up quickly after putting it on. It’s a soft shea butter and I thought it was great for rough spots on knees and elbows. I also plan to use it on my feet with thick socks in the winter. This is a new brand to me, but I love discovering new Made in Detroit products.
~Sanders Candy Co. Dark Chocolate Clusters Cherry & Granola ($6.99): Sanders is not just a Michigan company, they are basically in my backyard! Well, sort of. Anyway, they have been around for ages and make the most incredible hot fudge. These snacks, which are a blend of tart cherries & crunchy granola mixed with decadent dark chocolate are yummy, but the hot fudge is incredible.
~Soap Revolt (Big Pumpkin) ($6.99): Soap Revolt was started after the owner found herself battling cancer. She decided to remove all products made with chemicals from her beauty routine and realized she wasn’t left with too many choices. So she started to make her own. This soap is handcrafted and can be used on your face or body. I think this will be awesome for B!
~Great Lakes Kettle Cooked Sea Salt, Pepper & Onion Potato Chips (~$2): I am not sure why, but I have never heard of this brand. They are located in Traverse City (which is “up-north”) and made chips with “skin on” potatoes. These chips were super flavorful and I am now really interested in trying more of their favors. It doesn’t seem like any stores near me carry them, but hopefully that changes!
All totaled I came up with a value of $31.98 for the November 2015 Hammock Pack. I liked all of the items individually, but I don’t feel like it said Michigan to me. Maybe it’s just because I am from Michigan? I’m not sure?
What do you think of Hammock Pack? What city / state would you like to see them do next?
