SnackSack November 2015 Subscription Box

SnackSack delivers better tasting, originality, and higher nutritional value, in the form of a subscription snack box, once a month. Boxes include a mixture of snacks that are organic or all-natural, non-GMO, vegan, fair-trade, or gluten-free.

The Box

SnackSack ships around the 15th of the month.  If you sign up by the 1st of the month you will receive a box that month, otherwise your subscription will begin the following month.

First Look

SnackSack packages all of their items in a burlap sack each month.  Well, actually this month not too much was actually in the burlap sack.  It was all mainly on the outside with the sack on the bottom.

The Information Card

The November 2015 SnackSack included the following items:

~Gorilly Goods Pumpkin Seeds & Kale: These are organic, gluten-free, raw, vegan, non-GMO and cholesterol-free.  I am actually going to put this with some similar snacks for my cousins.  They are always on the hunt for new healthy treats like this to try.

~Vintage Italia Tomato Pasta Chips: Pasta chips are so good!  I’d describe them as a cross between a chip and a cracker.  They aren’t thin like a chip, but aren’t as thick as normal crackers either.  They taste great though and I love all the flavors they offer.

~Hubs Virginia Peanuts: These make a great snack for when you are out running around.  It’s a single serving pack so it’s great to toss in your bag.

~Betty Lou’s Cashew Pecan Balls: Meh.  I wasn’t a huge fan ofd this. I felt liked it needed less nuts and more something else.  But that’s probably because I don’t love either cashews or pecans.

~Brother’s All Natural Fruit Crisps: These crisps are 100% fruit and have no preservative or added sugar.  They are awesome for snacks for L to take to school.  He loves them and I am guessing that his teacher loves that they aren’t messy.

~Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins by Mandy’s: These are the best.  They are a thin, crisp chocolate cookie with sugar sprinkled on top.  They have the consistency of a brownie brittle almost, but they taste more cookie like. I have actually spotted these in a tube at Home Goods a few times, so if you have been wanting to try them, keep an eye out.

~Earnst Eats Superfood Trail Bar: This bar is 100% natural and is made from “superfood” grains such as oats & quinoa.  It was actually tastier than I was anticipating!

~The Better Chip Beet Tortilla Chips: Beet chips.  Hmm. I don’t know if I can get behind these?  It might just be because of the color? I didn’t think they tasted overly like beets, but that was a good thing. The texture was thicker than a “normal”tortilla chip, but not as thick as say, a rice cake.

~JimmyBar Banana Muffin Mini Bar: Jimmybars are gluten-free, vegan and have no sugar added.  I love banana muffins and was quite impressed like their “no bluffing’ banana muffin” bar. I feel like I have tried these in a different flavor before, but I think the banana is the way to go.

~Fruit Bliss Organic French Agen Mini Plums: These are non-GMO, certified USDA organic and gluten-free dried plums.  I liked the flavor well enough, but I was weirded out by the texture.  They are dried fruit which is then infused with water.  It makes it a bit soft and just off for me.

~Kelapo Extra Virgin Coconut Oil: I don’t know that I have used coconut oil for anything other than my hair?  Oh and I tried oil pulling too but couldn’t get into that.  I may have cooked with it a time or two, but it wasn’t much to write home about or I would remember.  It makes for a great hair treatment though.

~Pop Art White Cheddar Jalapeno Popcorn: Love these!  I have been super into popcorn lately and this is good stuff.  In addition to being gluten-free it also has a great kick to it.  Not too much, but just enough.

~Barnana Coconut Banana Bites: Barnana Coconut bites are non-GMO, gluten-free and organic.  I prefer the plain banana ones to these, but they are still good. I like that they are chewy and almost cookie like.

~Raw Rev Glo Protein Bar: These Raw Rev bars have popped up in a few boxes here and there.  Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don’t.  I have to be ready for the odd texture when I eat them.  They are really dense and you for sure need a drink with them.

I never do a cost breakdown on SnackSack, but this month had 14 snacks for $23 which I think is a great deal!
