Hammock Pack January 2016 Subscription Box Review - "Welcome to New Orleans" Hammock Pack is a monthly surprise pack filled with everything you need to take a much needed getaway without even leaving your home. Boxes are geared towards women and each month you will receive a pack filled with a mix of food, bath products, housewares, and accessories that you’d only find if you visited that month’s destination city.
Hammock Pack ships via USPS Priority Mail and is supposed to ship around the 25th of the month. They must ship in batches because some people get their boxes before mine even shipped.

The January 2016 Hammock Pack theme was “Welcome to New Orleans” and included the following items:

~Mad Darling Candles “Jazz on Frenchmen” ($16): This candle is incredible. It’s described as a “masculine scent” with notes of amber and oak. I didn’t find it to be overly heavy, and I have to say, I think it’s one of my favorite candle scents ever.

~Love, Cookie Butter Pecan Praline ($4): These cookies are made in the heart of downtown New Orleans and had a great buttery taste to them.  I would certainly seek this place out if I visited NOLA.

~Sucre Chocolate Bar (Candied Violet) ($7): I am not sure about this one.  I love the dark chocolate, but the candied violets are a little different.  It may be an acquired taste. These bars are handmade in small batches and are also gluten-free.

~Sweet Olive Soap Works Gris Gris ($6): If you subscribe to Hammock Pack on a regular basis you know that they send a lot of bar soap.  A lot.  Probably 70% of their boxes have bar soap in them. Anyway, this soap is made in small batches and has an earthly sweet and deeply spicy bouquet.  I didn’t think it was overly strong and it’s a soap B will be happy to use.
All totaled I came up with a value of $33 for the January 2016 Hammock Pack. I didn’t think it was an amazing box (it was just about what I expect from Hammock Pack), but that candle makes this box a winner for me!

What do you think of Hammock Pack?  What city / state would you like to see them do next?
